Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There's a Volkswagen sticker on the non-drive-side chainstay.

They will be waiting a long time. There were only 22 of those made, and it's been a while since they made them.

Of course, they could use that time productively enjoying coffee and donuts.

Hmmm...Interesting. I'm guessing that's related to the Trek-VW partnership at the time. I was looking through pics of USPS team jerseys, and I didn't see VW on any of them. Subaru is on the 2002 jersey.

Must skip my weekly Wednesday ride tomorrow to go visit wife's family at vacation rental in Poconos.

Tentative cycling plan is to ride around Lake Wallenpaupack (which I think it the largest lake in PA).

Now I want coffee and donuts. I can get the coffee easily, but fortunately not the donuts.

Nice that it's located so close to "Lakeville". Since it's a man-made lake, I wonder if that used to be "Riversburg", or maybe "Streamtown" or "Creekton".
