I don't recall Volkswagen being part of the road team sponsorship (maybe I'm not remembering correctly). Trek-Volkswagen was the pro MTB team. This is the frame the XC MTB team pros rode in 1999...
During that time, VW also had a special edition Jetta that came with a Trek MTB and a bike rack. That Trek was not the same at the pros' bike.

Wow, c.o.r.n.h.o.l.e has reached “sport” status, I never thought of it like so. To me it was a beer drinking game, much like bowling, you get better after drinking a couple.

Hmmm...Interesting. I'm guessing that's related to the Trek-VW partnership at the time. I was looking through pics of USPS team jerseys, and I didn't see VW on any of them. Subaru is on the 2002 jersey.

Nice that it's located so close to "Lakeville". Since it's a man-made lake, I wonder if that used to be "Riversburg", or maybe "Streamtown" or "Creekton".
