Scored this for my wife yesterday. All original and complete. Now if I can get her to be more excited about this than I am

Thanks. Yes it is. Most likely the most complete bike I’ve ever purchased, that hasn’t been messed with. Must have been stored in the perfect environment, because the chrome is clean, Brooks isn’t moldy and the hoods aren’t cracked.

You are most fortunate that the clamp portion of the pillar has flat sides.
If mine, post soak I would remove the saddle and clamp parts and place the clamp body flats in a beefy bench vise.
Frame makes a fine lever to twist things loose.

Holy Geez! A grail, loaded up with SR, no less. I had no idea they even made them that small. Your wife is a lucky gal whether she knows it or not.

And once you have bike upside down clamped in a vise by the top of the seat post you can remove the bottle cage bolts on the seat tube and spray liquid wrench down the tube I did the once over a couple days on a Nishiki MTB with the same stuck stem issue and if finally started to move with firm but not brutal twisting of the frame, Be patient and keep the liquid wrench coming when mine finally came loose the seat post (upside down) was full of liquid wrench

Late 90's Schwinn High Sierra frame (made in Japan); heavily rusted after years outside. Trashed everything but the frame which I had acid-dipped and powder coated. Pretty fast at 33+ mph. Sorry; can't upload picture.

I snagged this 92 Trek 1400 sporting a 9 speed cluster and other upgrades. Well used, needs cleaning, tires and tubes, and brake pads... Chucking it into the workstand in a bit to see what else it has... I told a friend I might have a problem, I picked up a 27 year old redhead...
Edit, after cleaning it up a bit and seeing what works, a 9 speed cassette was put on at some point, 12-25 teeth. But I found it odd the SIS shifted 8 of the 9. So, I yanked the 12-25 off, and slipped on a 12-32 I had on hand. Small adjustment, and it shifts fine. Friction shifts nice and smooth. I put on some old MKS pedals, slipped a spare front wheel in place, aired the rear tire up and took it for a ride on my neighborhood. I think I'm going to like it a lot.

An acquaintance told me that he was being fined for running an unapproved junkyard and had to get rid of s bunch of junk and there may be some bikes...found this and Univega Rover just a few feet in.
I donated $20.00 towards his fine.

"Unapproved junkyard?"
If they're going to start enforcing that, I think a lot of members here may need to crowdsource some fine money, too...

Yup.
When you start worrying more about people leaving stuff than taking stuff, you may have a problem...

Lots of good parts on the Univega: unbroken SLR brake parts...
aka: Mike J.
Thrift shop find today, I believe it is a 1996 Trek 930 with upgraded cranks and an aftermarket Scott handlebar.

My friend picked up three bikes put out on the street by his neighbor last week: a Santa Cruz mtb bike, a Cervelo P3C and a Kestrel 200. Who throws that kind of stuff away!!!

Found this in a pile of stuff headed for the dumb near were I live covered in ice and dirt. A very nice early cassette 6 speed DA MTB wheel with nice tire and rim. Knocked the dirt and ice off and pumped up the tire straitened the skewer a bit turns to my shock it's dead true the hub and freewheel spin perfect so now I have nice spare wheel for my 6 speed MTB and I just happen to have the 1st gen XT RD and Shifter to match the wheel in my parts bin.
