Others talk about wildfires and mudslides and earthquakes, but every place has its own flavors of disaster.

Seems they've cooked up a route for next Saturday but we'll see who's still in later this week. Not as much climbing as I was thinking but riding with others who are all faster than I am adds a level of difficulty.
The route I had in mind is over 70 miles with around 7K feet. The problem with that route is the race cars drivers have discovered it. Plus the whole 7K feet thing.

IMO wildfires are far and away our largest danger. Mudslides, earthquakes pale in comparison to the danger and damage we get from fire. Before we bought this townhome in 2022 (850k townhome....) we had looked at neighborhoods with big trail/open space networks nearby, like Tierrasanta. In the past year or two, some of the insurance providers out there have full on dropped wildfire coverage. Like not scaled back, but dropped. Makes you think twice. In 5-10 years from now when we are ready to afford a single family home in a nice, central neighborhood, fire risk will be a BIG component to our decision.

Well well well, it looks like I’m a serious cyclist after all.
It says ‘mineral oil’. Dot 3?
I was looking at adjusting the rear a little tighter, and when I pulled the boot back to get at the barrel adjuster, I found a hydraulic connector. Is that middle one a fill hole?

I just dropped an Ibu 600 to deal with the aches from today's softball game. Likely everyone on both teams did similar.

If there is air in the system it could make too much lever travel, or if the caliper is off centered that could do it, too.

you've gotta drive a half hour to get to good MTB trails. I guess that's better than Portland though, 45 mins to the good trails from there

Dangit. I'll be there in July for 4 nights surrounding my sister's wedding. Was hoping to rent a MTB and ride to some trails. Not sure I'd want to bother with renting a road bike, although I suppose I could do that too and find some of the local hammer rides or something

Best thing about Portland Summers is TONS of bike racing. STXC going on Monday nights. Crits on Tuesdays. Usually weekend stuff too.

* I'm closing on my new home May 1.
* Today our old house went on the market and we got a full price offer. It seems sus.
*I've got jury duty the week of May 20th.
*Roscoe is in bad shape all of a sudden and we are taking him to the vet tomorrow at 11 AM
*At some point I want to schedule my trial run on my spinal cord stimulator. Probably going to push it back until June once things on my plate clear.
A lot going on. Some good some bad.
