While we're doing French bikes... I posted the Peugeot a few pages back, but I don't remember if I posted the other two here.

Bicycle Mechanic consistently misrouts his brake cables in front of the bars. I guess that's okay because he's Bicycle Mechanic.

not the best picture, but here's a Peugeot Iseran that I restored this past weekend. Hopefully I can get better pics after work tonight.

Sorry if this is a bit long, but I had a couple weeks between spring term and summer term so I worked on restoring my fathers college bicycle. 1984 Motobecane City-Becane, this bike spent about 24 years outside covered in a foot of leaves so it has come a long way.

How it all started, rear triangle was rusted pretty badly and not many original parts.

All stripped down, frame brazing was not to the highest standard.

Paint was a pretty close match to the original Sand paint.

Three coats of etching primer later, let the wet sanding begin!

Many base coats later

Wire wheeled and painted seatpost clamp.

Taking the wheels apart in order to polish the rims, replace the spokes, and sand, polish, and clear coat the hubs.

Decals on, six coats of clear later.

Stradguy, that's a great save. The final result should be tremendous.

Love the double fork crown too.

Did all the work myself, always have wanted to paint a bike so I finally took a shot at it. Ended up getting the decals from Velocals, they wouldn't respond to any of my emails regarding getting some City-Becane decals made up.
