Thanks. Vittoria provided the valve stem color, anodized (?) aluminum stems that are supposedly removable.

16 miles in wind that was lust plain brutal. Best way to describe wind is to say that I hit 28.9 mph on flatland.

RogerM, those pics of all the greenery are beautiful. What happened to that poor tire though? You hit something? That tread looks like a Gatorskin. I guess flat-protection technology doesn't help much when the whole casing takes a hit. I lost a new Pasela once when I dropped into a pothole and the edge tore a hole in the casing.

Another very hot morning; and very windy to boot. Got in a 35 mile ride but started having discomfort issues with my right shoulder. Just couldn't get it comfortable, no matter what position I rode in. It's the shoulder that got dislocated two years ago and it does this every once in a while. Other than that, it was a good ride, overall.

Thanks Jim. I'm not sure what happened. but I suspect it might have something to do with a pinch flat that I got a couple weeks ago. I hit something hard with that tire not long ago, and I think the tire casing may have been compromised at that point. I've had a tough bout with tires this year for some odd reason.

BikeWNC and I rode the Burnsvile Metric on Saturday, then up the Parkway on Sunday. Great weekend around here for a change.

Rode 12 miles this morning. Have not missed a day all month. We are supposed to have high Santa Anna winds tomorrow morning somewhere in the 25 mph range. That should be fun.

Yesterday, 16 miles, cut it off due to the winds, steady SSW wind that was blowing me around the road too much for safety. Very humid, also, ahead of the storm line that tore up Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee yesterday.

30 miles and new best average speed in 1.5 years by over 1 mph. Main reason may be med change. Was on low dose BP med. Next few days will tell if fluke or real improvement.

90+ 5% humidity and 10-30mph winds. My normal 35-40mph descent on a 7% grade was reduced to 15 lol 10.25 miles today, Torrey pines beach was nice and cool in comparison to the rest of the route.

Congratulations! From what I hear one of a very few who completed the ride. It was an awful day with rain, and unbelievable wind. An accomplishment indeed!

Thanks k2oxtc. It did not seem there were nearly as many riders last Saturday as the last couple of years, probably because of the weather forecast. At 50 miles we started getting the raint the 60 mile sag stop I was shivering, along with 3 of the guys I was riding with. There was a fire station there that let us in to warm up. One of the guys called a buddy (who was volunteering at a sag) to pick us up. By the time he got there I was warm, and the rain had passed. I decided to go ahead and finish the ride.

Only 10 miles this afternoon, raining during my ride so I decided to cut things short and turned towards home when the thunder and lightning began as a line of thunderstorms headed toward our area. Got home just as the hard stuff was starting.
jimmuller, Very nice Motobecane Jim, I like the colourway very much!
az_cyclist, kudos from me, too, that was quite an accomplishment, I read some ride reports and as h2oxtc said, it sounded like some pretty tough going.

That would be welcome, reading the ride reports lets us live the rides vicariously (today's big word) when we can't make them. Please do when you get the chance.

Day two med change report. 30.9 miles and again the one asspower engine ran exceptionally well without the BP med additive in the fuel system. My expectations for Saturday century finish time has dropped from ten to eight or better hours. I feel GREAT!

I got out for a little while today and rode on some local roads. We're getting some unusually warm weather this week, with tomorrow and Thursday reaching the low 80s.

I rode my 20 mile route today and set my best time so far. I am wondering if my improvements are a result of my training or the warmer weather. I feel stronger each week.

Have not been able to ride since Sunday, storms and rain, suppose to get out of here today, maybe a ride tomorrow. I hear you got a lot of rain yesterday, 12 inches?
