Here's my commuter. I love it. It's nothing special but I can't wait to get on it every morning and evening. It started off with flat bars and a grip shifter. I picked it up stock last year as my first adult bike and began commuting every day. It's been fun to play around with and learn on.

That is an issue that has been repeatedly mentioned in the https://www.bikeforums.net/forum-sugg...tion-here.html thread, but it seems they are unable to find a solution.

That bike is a beauty! I found the same frame (much smaller size) with unfortunately a lot of damage to the paint, so this is what it looks like now. I love the way it rides.

^^^ Looks like the 1984 Stumpjumper from the last issue of Bicycle Times. Definitely an oldie but goodie.

Swapped over the wheels, pedals, and saddle from the Prelude, replaced cassette w/ 27t Ultegra, bottle cages. Gotta even up that saddle and left the aero bars on for now, I've never ridden on a set before.

Thought I'd show mine
Recently purchased a bike large enough for me and added a few things to make my trip that much more enjoyable.

The previous owner broke off the real derailleur of this 1999 Kona Lava Dome. The broken derailleur flew off and and it hit a few of the rear wheel spokes, crashed the front derailleur, and caused some other damages. I bought it because the frame is my size.
Made it a single speed commuter. Trued both wheels and installed new brake pads and cables/housing.
Lucked out with a magic ratio (42/16). A brand new chain would be impossibly too tight. A used one with just a few strokes with a file on the axle worked perfectly. My commute is only 6 miles and the tennis ball can holds a spare tube and a wrench.
Even with that heavy fork, a steel handlebar and a kickstand, it is just about 25 lb.
