Been dealing with my upstairs neighbor now for way too long. Her dog barks, and it barks almost non stop. The complex asked me to stop leaving notes on her door as she found it to be threatening.
Started documenting everything like time and length of barking and submitted to the complex. Been doing that for almost 3 weeks. Today, I had it with the barking. Called the cops and filed a noise complaint. I like dogs, I have one, I love them. I am not keen on being woken up every morning at 6:45 by a barking dog however. I work second shift. That doesn't fly.

Now I work from home and the neighbor behind me had a dog they put outside during the day. It started barking the moment they left for work and they didn't believe me that their nice, well behaved dog would bark all day long when they weren't home. I called the cops - don't know what happened but It hasn't been a problem since.
I hate dogs. Hope they become extinct.

Currently run 3 fans in my bedroom, one ceiling, one small one on the nightstand next to the bed and a bigger one at the foot of the bed. The dull noise from them is usually enough to kill any background noise or whatever. Not this dog though. This son of a b is a husky/shepard mix of some sort and it has a really loud bark. Being a second shifter, I am often up until 2-3 am and sleep until 9 or so. The first nice spring night we had, slept with the window open. Neighbor apparently wasn't home. She had the same idea as me, bedroom window open to let that nice breeze in. Dog must have seen a deer or a squirrel or whatever, starts barking, from her bedroom. Look at my phone. 5:25 am.
I don't hate dogs at all, love my little guy to death. I understand that dogs bark. I done had enough tho.

I can't stand people that can't take care of dogs. I walk my dog for an hour a day 5-6 days a week so he isn't hyper and barking. I'm also lucky as I seem to have the quietest beagle ever to exsist.

Or just get a sweet sound system with a big ass subwoofer. Low frequencies just penetrate through walls like they're not there.

Today I rode my new mtb (sweet!) for 2hrs around open spaces and trails nearby my parent's house - and had a blast. First real ride on the new mtb.
In one section of the ride near San Marcos Mtn, or "Radio Tower Pass" as my friends and fam. like to call it, I found a true gem of a trail. Meandering through random intersecting trails near the bottom, I found one cut that happened to go up the contours/slope of the hillside for at least a couple hundred feet (maybe 300'"), with 10 switchbacks. It had nicely carved berms, retaining walls, little jumps and drops etc, and nicely placed rock gardens - the works. It took me a full 7-minutes to descend. It took a fair bit longer to climb (obv.), but I wasn't paying attention because I was too stoked at what I was discovering.
I was stunned to find something like this so hidden and close to home. There was clearly signs of recent work, with new dirt, trash cans and tools strewn about the trail. At the top, the developed trail abruptly ended, with only a moderate brush-clearing, on top of which lied a wheelbarrow, mattock and two shovels. I used to do a fair bit of trailbuilding during my scout days, made me really appreciate these guys' work.
Pics soon.

Today my neighbors dog woke me up. At 6:31 am. Barking for almost an hour non stop. Called the police again this morning. So much win. The officer that will be handling my case? My best friend in elementary school. I have dealt with him previously and everything was handled to perfection. This should be no exception. Turned in more paper work to the complex this morning to include letting them know about the cops. They inform me that she is now recording her apartment because she thinks I am lying. It will be a tale of the tape when she listens to this mornings canine concert. Complex is getting really annoyed with the situation, and honestly, I feel like they are taking her side on this. That's fine. When it happens again, I will record on my handy cellphone, the date, time, and I will even go outside so that they can hear the dog barking.

Today I went to change the filter on my AC/furnace unit that I bought last year and realized that the idiots installed the housing upside down, so the filter is in backwards. They will need to completely redo this install to fix it.

Me and the GF bought a white noise maker from bed bath and beyond or something and it's amazing, pretty much just a mini fan in a case you twist to change the tone. Been sleeping solidly through the night lately, which is a new concept for me

I got the feeling that might be the case when I visited last year. It's really an event here in LA, kind of refreshing to get rained on once in a while. Though with the heat I tend to get so wet with sweat that I might as well be in the rain.

Got chainring bolts in the mail, Campagnolo 5 arm cranks look soo much cleaner. Garmin vector pedals are cool too, but I won't have time to take them on a real ride until Wednesday morning

Today I got my AC/furnace filter problem fixed w/o a lot of drama. The HVAC guy admitted they screwed up and installed it backwards, and I was helpful in accepting a simple modification that allowed fliter to be reversed w/o completely removing and reinstalling the whole fan/furnace/coil assembly, which would have been a total pita. I also provided him with tools he needed, because his were in another company truck. In appreciation for my cooperation, he did this work and a fall system checkup for zero charge. He also gave a neat ballpoint pen with a built-in light. When he saw all the bikes in my garage, he was beyond amazed.
