Not mine, but could be. Would it have been fully campy equipped originally? https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...659489144.html

A real good friend provided transport for my recent N+1 acquisition. It is from a fine and generous BF member. The jersey was an unexpected surprise. I think it is a 1984 since the serial number starts with “M”. Unfortunately a previous owner sometime in the decades past removed all but the seat and head tube decals. My plans are white Benotto Cello bar tape, white cable housings and Kool Stop brake pads.

WV is not flat..
It's funny this thread was revived. I just had my son pick up this Allez Epic (not sure about the year). It was 4 hours away, but 10 minutes from him. Couldn't turn it down for the price. This is the ad picture and not great, but it is a full 105 group and not sure about the bonded joints. Will need to inspect a little better when I get it home. Fun bikes.

I love it

A clean and polish after Benotto Cello bar tape, Kool Stop pads (WOW!), and white brake cable housings. I took it for a short 2 mile ride around the neighborhood. It was fun! New tubes/tires are next…

What year?
I picked this up at our neighborhood garage sale and had it listed FS but rode it a few times and...I think I'm keeping it. I assumed it was too small for me, but with the seatpost a bit higher than the pic shows, it fits well and the sloping top tube sure does make for easy on/off with these 67 year old legs. Also it has 165mm cranks, which I am finding work for me.
Components are Shimano RX-100 and work flawlessly. Dinucci style lugs are pointy and clean. I am thinking to change to a dirt drop style stem and wider maybe randonneur bars for a more upright position, but of course I'll get black anodized ones. And yellow bar tape.
SN is hard to read due to thick paint but looks like GM 11 xxxx. By T-Mar's thread that might mean Giant production in 1991. Which is the copyright date on the original owner's manual that came with it.
However it doesn't match the 1991 I see in the catalog at Retrobike, and the closest to a catalog match is 1993, except that has a sloping unicrown fork while this one is lugged.
Any comments or suggestions welcome!
***UPDATE*** I think I've figured it out. I pulled a late 1990 date code off the RD, the serial number for the frame indicates 13th fortnight of 1991, and the bike's specs seem to match 1992 in the German catalog on Retrobike. That shows a *purple* bike and looking at mine just right you can imagine that it's an extremely dark purple rather than black. Catalogs are notoriously slippery as far as details, the photographer often doesn't have an actual production bike. So while the catalog photo shows a vibrant color, that could have been a one-off and the factory actually used a very different shade, or maybe in printing the purple got punched up. Anyway, my bike must be a '92.

I went to donate a bike to the local co-op and saw this sad, neglected Allez Sport in a pile with all the rest. I felt bad for it, so I brought it home. I had an '86 Allez SE, and wanted to see how the newer Dinucci-designed Allez bikes compared.
My old ‘86:
On top of that, it had a steel fork rather than the more common aluminum one, which is what I would have preferred anyway.
The co-op find:
I've tried to nail down a year on this one, but am still unsure. Someone must have really taken to it at one point in it's past though, because it was fitted with all Shimano 600. Other than a couple of very small dings in the top tube (which I will experiment w/ removal), it is in very good condition. It came with a lovely pantographed 'Allez' stem, and I haven't seen another one.
Corrected the front derailleur issue, put a new front tire on it (original was shredding), gave it a rando seatpost and saddle, replaced the stem w/ something shorter (was a little too long for me) and whala! I also had a nice Specialized branded handlebar, so I used that and sort of made up for the lost panto'd Allez stem. I was for sure thinking this was going to be a catch and release, but I really like the ride! It is slightly 'vanilla', but I would say does ride a notch above most production bikes, and I think Dinucci had some good things going. I have no complaints! It is smooth, stiff without being harsh, steers well, and has good acceleration. Feels like I could ride it for a long time. Its the perfect commuter, and with its gray/silver color, doesn't stand out too much. I'm a fan.
Will need to correct a too-short front brake housing, and experiment with lever position, the hoods+bar wrap time! What color for wrap? I’m thinking either red or purple

Guys,
I'm happy to report that this generation (the DiNucci gen) of Allez models can quite possibly take 700x33s! Which, given its day (90s) is highly unusual I suppose.
The rear: absolutely no problem. They fit perfect, with even a tad bit of room to spare.
The front: It fits, the fit is tighter, but it does clear that front fork (cromo unicrown version) w/ about 2mm to spare in the front. However, the brake (Shimano 600) is where it was getting a little hung up. With some experimentation, it may be possible to find a brake set that allows it to clear. I can't tell what what the experience is with the alloy fork.
The good news here is if you were married to this frameset, but wanted to use 33s, you could. And if the front fork was an issue, you could in theory replace the front fork.
EDIT: Tire I was testing with was a Jack Brown 700c x 33.
