Road Cycling“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway
Yikes and I am way ahead of last year but not after seeing yours my 923 doesnt seem all that much. But for me it is a lot this is my second year of riding!
Bikes: 2009 Spooky (cracked frame), 2006 Curtlo, 2002 Lemond (current race bike) Zurich, 1987 Serotta Colorado, 1986 Cannondale for commuting, a 1984 Cannondale on loan to my son
Miles only matter if you are in a contest for most miles in the year. I'm not. It is the wrong metric for me and what I want to do on a bike.
If you really want to know, I have 5005 miles so far this year. Big deal. I have also gained 8 lbs and I'm not in very good shape racing-wise. I was in MUCH better shape in early March. Then again 1400 or so of these 2009 miles were "base" miles accumulated in January 2009 that laid a solid foundation for the intense riding of February that lead to great shape in early March.
