Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is real, and seems like a good deal. Oakley EVZRO Prizm. ($99.00)

That model/shape is great for cycling, but I wouldn't recommend that tint(unless you do a lot of shooting on your rides).

I think that Oakleys are a lot of overpriced crock, like branded bicycle frames, while Chinese sunglasses are often indistinguishable, and I love my faux frame that I ride lots.

What I feel very sure of is that there is at least one person on these forums using multiple socks (sockpuppets) to post questions of the form "Where can I get some Oakleys?" and replying from another sock, "From me at only X," where X is a discount but still very expensive, so as to sell to other forum members, presumably since the mark up is so great.

You can get cycling sunglasses from China at about $1.5 a pop and they do the job.

Though not as well as cheap Chinese helmets with a visor

Cheap Chinese, e.g. velobuild, frames are great too

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that doesn't make their opinion a fact. Some people still believe the earth is flat.

I'd love to see an example of these posts that you are talking about.

I worked for Oakley for many years, and they helped with race/equipment expenses for years after that(I've never hidden this). When someone asks a question about Oakley eyewear, or asks for an eyewear recommendation, I will never hesitate to share my personal experience. Do you have an issue with that?

It is very difficult for me, especially without access to IP addresses, to demonstrate that multiple sockpuppets have been used, but in the past I Googled the same face to more than one id (on this and other forums) such as to convince myself that sockpuppets were being used to generate business through monologue posing as dialogue.

I think that the use of that type of "ruse" is best avoided, but it may be quite popular, even among the most laudable perhaps. C.f.

So you have nothing to back up your suspicions.

I have this with a Matte Black W/ Sapphire Iridium Polarized lens ($84.99). This is by far my current favorite cycling "sunglasses" (outside a shield). It's very light and the visibility (no frame obstruction) is really really good.

I would rank my favorite on cycling glasses I currently own as follows:

[1] Air Attack Shield
[2] Oakley EVZero Range
[3] Smith Optics Pivlock Arena Max
[4] Oakley Jaw Breaker
[5] Oakley Custom Prizm
[6] Tifosi Slip

I used to own a Oakley Jawbone and I really liked that one a lot. Broke when I crashed (dog chased me).

I ordered a couple pairs of "Foakleys" from Aliexpress yesterday for $1.50 each. Anxious to see how they pan out!

Anyone ever tried genuine Jawbreaker lenses in a fake frame? Or better yet, mixed parts of the genuine frame with a fake, ie the upper or lower part of the frame? I want to switch up the color of the upper frame on mine, but Oakley won't just sell you the upper, lower, or ear section of a frame, and I'm not really interested in dropping another $250+ for another pair.

I saw earlier that someone noted some of these are made off the same mold as the real ones, meaning they'd presumably fit together. Anyone know where to find these?
