Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just picked up Garmin speed and cadence sensors, along with an ant+ dongle and extension cord. Signing up for Zwift if/and winter ever comes. Tomorrow is supposed to be 70* so I have at least one more day outside.

Awesome jersey. I got the BLUE one and after a ride, I decided to get the BLACK one as well. Great for cold temp riding because of the material and it's thicker. I use down to 40 with proper base layering. Follows US sizing fit (like Pearl Izumi). Can't go wrong with it. Great choice!

good to hear about the shoecovers!

Outdoor Research Versaliner:
ive heard good things about these gloves from people who travel around the world on their mtbs. theyre a 2 part system, the glove on the right is the fleeced "liner" with a little pocket on the back that can hold the supposedly windproof/waterproof(to a point) and breathable "shell" on the left and/or a chemical heatpack

the amazon page i linked was the cheapest i could find them, only $32

it's on sale now at backcountry/competitive cyclist 50% off for this exact style (2015). Try coloradocyslist too. The 2016 is full priced but looks awesome as well.

Sweet, glad to hear it. Will be here Wed. so I should get to try it soon. I usually throw a vest over my long sleeve jersey rather than go under but i'll see how this one fits. I like that the sleeves have windproof fabric. my other LS doesn't and even tho the body part is fine the arms can be colder

and yes i got it at Competitive cyclist

Thanks for the link. Not sure whether they'll be warm enough, but at $32 and Amazon PRIME returns, why not try them? I have trouble when the temps get into the 20's and 30's here--experimenting with lots of things now. But your feet will stay warm with those Gore booties, for sure!

i have the same problem, and the wind is the main culprit for all my digits. i figured the windproof shell is the most important part of that equation, if i need more ill add a wool liner under those and ill be ok

but like you said, cheap and prime returns, why the hell not? lol

Finally got some pictures of my recent buys. Very excited to get these rolling. Okay, the last pic is an older bike and not a road bike but it felt left out.
