Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hello everyone! This is going to be my first SS and will be a fun project that I'm looking forward to. '77 Fuji Sports 10. The previous owner sort of made it a single speed already. But all he did was remove the derailleurs and just rode it fixed on a single ratio. Didn't change the hub or the crank. So that's what I'll be doing. Not sure what else I'll want to replace due to lack of experience with them but that's where the fun is!!

Affinity Track bike - $400 (lake oswego)

Selling this bike to fund my bug engine rebuild.

Affinity Marta frame from Brooklyn, NY
Sugino RD crank, 48t chainring and BB
Soma 17t cog and lock ring
Deep Vs and Formula hubs
BMX pedals
Odyssey BMX stem
Atom risers
Selle San Marco saddle
Aheadset 1"threadless headset

Bike is in good condition. Never been dropped/crashed. Paint shows usual signs of wear from lockups and regular use.
Saddle has a tear. Front tire is worn, can be ridden but needs replacing at some point. Rear tire has a flat that i will repair tomorrow.

Yes. Try to haggle it down though, like to $300.

Then make a sweet commuter out of it.

Check thoroughly for any cracks or delamination. Maybe it had a defect so he got a new frame and stripped everything.

Why not the Giant? I love the old Giant font! Looks a little rough but I bet it's a rad bike. I'd probably bite for $100.

That Huffy is crazy huge!

Nishiki 63cm single speed w/coaster brake - $500 (NE)

This bike started out as a 70's Nishiki semi pro.
I built it for a budget bike building contest online, it has had a few additions and changes since then.
this is a fast, light steel framed bike.
it has chocolate brown Velocity deep V's
Vittoria zaffiro tires, pedal cages with leather straps
54 tooth chainring with a 19t rear cog, so the gearing is fun,
Vintage brooks style seat, handmade leather top tube pad and handlebar wrap, flipped handlebars from a 3speed.
front brake with rear coaster brake.
TT is 62cm
34" stand over height
This bike is a real head turner, and it is a blast to ride with the coaster brake.
Why does this bike appeal to me soo much? Is it the color match stem? Is it the browns?...maybe I just need a nice vintage build.
