Late in the day, and VERY late in the season, first of rides on the 2 seater. We got back just before the afternoon turned nasty. Only 23 miles but we were still able to maintain 19-20 right into that stiff headwind coming home. A start......

Nope, spend yesterday up near Greenlawn - LIE/Half Hollow/Old Country/Manor Hill, etc.... hilly enough for early in the year.

Great weather for ride. 'Twas Mrs' first club ride in months, and I thought we'd be sluggish. Boy did she prove me wrong for 45 miles, a total powerhouse. Sea Cliff is still hilly though....

Down in West Palm where it's in the 80s and humid. I rented a Trek Emonda S with 105. Did 25 miles today down A1A but had to turn around due to Trump being in town.

Today was hotter than Tuesday. The temp on my Garmin ready 96*.

Rode to Northport and had a headwind (18mph) all the say back.

I didn't think ahead and only too one water bottle.I also didn't think of putting in sunscreen. So I made a few stops to refill, unfortunately so one had their AC turned on yet.

I just got back from my 3rd trip down to West Palm since January, unfortunately all work and NO play as my brother & myself have been engaged in preparing our Dad's old condominium for sale. I have not so much as dipped my feet in the pool. I'm curious where you ride down there....just A1A? I've always been intrigued with heading west away from the densely settled coast into the "interior" but haven't had a chance.

We got a nice 45 miler in yesterday to Port Washington. Not too big a group and a swift but pleasant pace. Shakedown cruise for the yellow tandem.

Wow... what a day.

Sunny, mild temps and low humidity. Only a 12mph wind was the fly in the ointment.

57 miles at a nice 15.6mph pace. A few stretches in the 20mph+ pace with the wind at my back.

Couldn't do it yesterday, but today was beautiful........shortish ride of 34 miles, which was 50 yards too long as my shifter crapped out literally seconds before the end. Cleaned out, lubed, still not pulling cable. I think it's toast. Oh well......it lasted around 25,000 miles so can't complain.

Spend a few hours this morning cleaning all the sand, grit and muck off the bike after yesterdays ride.

Then I headed out for a "easy" ride. I just wanted to get out in the fresh air so I took it easy. 25 miles @ 14.5mph and it was awesome.

Wow, what a morning. I rolled over in bed and noticed the sun was up. I checked the time and it was 5:30am, I got up. Took a look at the weather and it was around 60* with temps in the 80s in the middle of the day. So I got dressed and out. Headed down to Tobay so i beat the crowds heading to the air show. Then I headed north and wound up in Oyster Bay. After enjoying the scenery and a snack under a tree I headed home.

Then I did lawn work and other tasks.... i'm tired.

After a hot, hilly but very enjoyable 48 miler out to Kings Park the other day, today I wanted to neither climb nor sweat. And also to check any local fishing action. So, the nice and cool, and dead flat, 27 to Tobay was what the doctor ordered. The only thing I saw landed was seaweed.

Had a yuuuuge, fast 43 mile AA ride to Crab Meadow Beach. Beautiful HOT morning. Heat & humidity is sometimes my kryptonite but the wife more than made up for it from the back seat.

Our ride leader promised his route was "flat on the way out, and mostly downhill coming home". Such is his cycling gravitas, he can bend the laws of space and time to his will.

One of my regular ride buddies once complained "Hey, I though there were no hills on this ride !". My reply was "It's only a hill if it's got that word in it - Moores Hill, Steel Hill, Mill Hill"

Don't need to tell me, I've been over, on a bike, Wolf Creek, Red Mt., Molas, Coal Bank, Slumgullion, Spring Creek, all above 10. They all look like the photo, or so I've been told, a lot of them were completely socked in when I was there. Not one were as steep as Mill Hill, they just went on for 8 miles.......

Spring?

I went for a ride on Sunday and work today. Quick question when I slept in on Saturday did I miss summer? Sure feels like fall out there.

I've never ridden over any of those......my pic is of US212 aka "Beartooth Highway. Just driven over it around 10 times. Not steep, just uphill for 30 odd miles, then downhill for 30 odd miles. All my above 10k mileage has been on foot.

I think it was 53 ish Sunday AM. Buddies and I rode at 7:30 out of BP, there were NO cars in the lot when we got back, I think everybody expected rain and slept in. For me the perfect riding temps are low 50’s to low 60’s.

Sunday was Bike-Boat-Bike, so many riders were sucked out East. You should have come at 830, we had very congenial group of around 10, went up to Northport and had a fun 40 miler.
