It had been sliding down the page since last night until you bumped it up. 😋

I've got a question. What color SS-5's did you want?

-Kurt

P.S.: There are silver SS-5 levers in the box.
I was looking for the black-painted, rubber-dipped version. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the extra "S" means "silver."

Here's sample product copy for the SS-5 levers, if they were listed on the Rivendell site:

Here you go: https://ebay.com/itm/Dia-compe-Mounta...AAAOSwjZZeqzwy

Get some SS-5 stickers off another set and these will look good as new.

Note there is a small piece of hardware missing from that pair...look closely. The seller doesn't point it out, either.

I see it. Easy enough to replace that, though at this point, I really wouldn't mind if the OP installed them upside down. Hint, hint.

The bidder is just upping their limit. Can you imagine how embarrassing it might be if you've inadvertently insulted a forum member?

I could have a mint copy of Superman #1 and if I sell it to someone for the price I'm asking, they can use it for toilet paper for all I care.

And, by the way, that doesn't mean I don't believe there's room to leave some rare items sealed until there aren't enough left open to meet demand for actual use. I don't buy sealed vintage bicycle parts because there are already open ones I can get cheaper. But if I came into possession of a rare part in it's original packaging and could find another to use, I would be inclined to leave it packaged until I sold it as an investment. What the next person does with it really isn't my business.
We all have issues, my friend. Most of us here have bike issues, just for starters, and we can go from there. I'm just making sure you understand that the obsessed with pristine, factory sealed, never touched or played with... people shouldn't try to justify their strange behavior with shallow claims of monetary value.

And don't you see that your second statement causes the prices of those in-use items to increase further, frustrating the decent people caught in the middle? You aren't doing anyone any favors...

Wow! is all I can say. However I have a little fuel to put on this fire. I bought something from this same E-Bay seller, And it came in today's morning postal delivery. Now I am completely confused. I believe the buyer is refusing to open the box! It is a nice box and appears to have been gently packed and sealed:

However, I am afraid to open the box! What if I discover that the parts inside are actually what I ordered and agreed to pay for them? What do I do if I find they are in better condition than I thought they would be? Will I devalue the parts inside if I open the box? Way too many questions for a feeble mind. Perhaps the seller should just flag me as being not very smart.... So should I open the mystery box? Or just let all of the questions fester in my less than functional brain? Ben, I'll bet we could play guess what's in MH's mystery box. That should propel this thread to way over 200 posts.
Smiles, MH

Mad Honk, it's obvious this box needs dispersal. Please send it to me to ensure proper and safe recycling of the contents.

Kurt,
Dispersal of this box would be undo-able, unless it is going to be another of those Box 'O Crap games. But if you want me to send it to you to dispose of, I get the drift! And it may be an option for my feeble mind. As for the suspected contents they could be safely recycled. I would prefer to keep them though. As I suggested to Ben it may drive this thread to 200 posts if folks were to guess what is in the box. Just my simple stoopid humor going on here. But this box is from the same seller and it may shed some light on the veracity of the discussion of the value of trusting your seller. And as I said it could bring Ben's wish to get to 200 posts to fruition. And Kurt you know the stuff in the box is likely made out of our favorite material found on the table of elements as #493 UnObtainium. As you know it is very difficult to find and hold for more than it's half life. As always, MH
