Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

On murrellington's frame, there was plenty of chainring.spider clearance but the drive side crank arm was way too close for comfort (within 1mm) before the NDS arm was even torqued down.

I didn't even think about length... i'm dumb.

Mine are 167.5

That all makes sense now.

Bikes: Felt F75(2014), Specialized Langster(2009). In the past I have owned a 2013 Felt F5 and a Schwinn Phocus 1400. I'm still looking for my stolen Giant Revel 1.

Are they on a Wabi frame? Or what frame are you riding?

Not hating on you, but why put such lightweight wheels on a heavyish frame like that ?

Do you have liver disease?? Or are you being edgy by eluding to how much PBR/IPA/Craft beers you drink?

Have I broken some rule I wasn't aware of? Should I only have put heavy wheels on my bike??

Like I said, not hating, just asking. It's your bike, so you're free to do whatever you want with it. I've got the standard Wabi wheels on my steel Rush, and they are plenty light for me. Peace.

Not hating either, but you have to realize that it is such a weird question to ask someone. By posting about my wheels, which I am obviously very happy with, it was not my intention to detract or take away from anyone else in the world from enjoying the wheels they have and have spent money on.

Light wheels on a heavy frame makes more sense than heavy wheels on a light frame, even if the two hypothetical bikes have the same total weight.

Rotational weight is what matters most while riding.

Only when accelerating.

When riding at a constant speed, aerodynamics matters more.

A combination of both is the best recipe. With my wheels and my Tron light bike-like tuck during yesterdays excursion, I was able to surpass some experienced riders on our descents.

I disagree. Unless you are not climbing at a constant rate, the only thing that matters is actual mass.
