Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Busy day at work. But someone (one of my patients) left an envelope for me. I opened it up and it contained a felt "Giro d'Italia" Banner from the 100th anniversary of the Giro. It's pink (of course) and roughly 8 x 14 inches. I have a pic and will try to post it later.

Now wait a minute here....

I'm in the middle of a crisis and you're posting about felt banners.

OK, today was a short ride, only 24 miles. We usually ride 40-45 miles but it was a cold, nasty, windy day and one guy had to get back anyway so we cut it short.

Today's average was only 15.0 but mid-18 isn't unusual. It depends upon the attendees.

I'm the weak bladder in the group due to my prostate removal and radiation damage. I don't go very far between stops.

Power was pretty low today.

Age left to right: 62,73,63,74 and I'm 64.

It is the Mr. and Mrs. T's Bloody Mary mix they use. That stuff is even good by itself. Verrry professional.

Check over the bike carefully before your next ride, especially the brakes. She's smart enough to keep the decomposing phase outside of the house.

Ahhhh yes,

Good point. She had me take our daughters bike to the shop yesterday. I think that was a diversion so that she could make some "repairs" to my bike.

Umm, is someone hiding? Four people and five ages. Or is this a matching game?

Noooo, don't use your own dog. Get a chewawa or a yoorky or something, what good are they anyway?

Noted.

The neighbor has a little yippy dog.

My thought on using the greyhound is that she is 13. That's about enough time in this planet for a dog.

Plus, if you have a carbon bike it must be inspected twice a day, top to bottom. And if you ever find it sitting in the sun and you don't recall putting it there . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . .

Just saying.
