I am not now an owner of, nor have I ever been an owner of a combined brake/shift lever unit commonly referred to as a brifter.

Does that make me a member, or do I need to sign a dotted line in blood? (caused by crashing when I went to reach for my DT shifters)

What if handlebar mount bottle cages make a comeback in the next few years as some sort of brand new technological breakthrough? 15 years from now people will talk about how dangerous it used to be to reach for your water bottle mounted on the downtube.

My Peugeot PX10 Simplex DT shifters are the best!
The Peugeot mixtes belong to my wife and daughter, they only use one gear. Both are downtube shifters, but to the girls, they're one speed.

My Brifter groupe consist of 8sp Gios, 10sp Cinelli, Colnago and 11sp is the Merlin. Riding in the city, it's better to have brifters, with hands on the hoods and shifting is much safer then reaching to shift and it's more convenient for shifting though the gears! I would argue against these electric shifting brifters, add's weight and if the battery goes dead, do you walk your bike home or call for someone to pick you up in their car?

The Hustle was sold to a collector. The Paycheck is waiting out an employment change, and technology is moving so fast, I still can't decide on disc vs. canti, or if the canti will even be available. It looks like I can use a donor 29'er for most of the drivetrain, so I'm looking into that, as well.

There will be another Hustle, and a completed Paycheck; just not sure when. Very likely, both will be 1x systems. The Paycheck will be an all-around manic depressive bike, capable of road or off with a swap of front ring, chain, and wheel system. 40T and 11-34 for off-road and climbs, 29'er discs, 50T and 11-34 for road use, 700c discs if the 29'ers feel too wide.

The next Hustle will be pure speed, and I anticipate very close to UCI 15.1 lbs, 1x10 and fairly narrow range.
