does anyone have any suggestions for some core exercises that can be done without putting body weight (/any weight) on the arms?
no crunches, please (i'm basically doing those during every ride).
unfortunately, lost of my go-to exercises that i've been using to help with some back injuries since getting hit by a car are not an option for me at the moment. (e.g., variations on planks)
thanks!

Unless you want to grip a weight in your teeth and do a forward pull/bend, which is pretty much just like a crunch.
Maybe juggle a soccer ball on your knees? That's an ab workout for me, but maybe just because my abs are super weak.

i've already stopped showering to prepare for it. (seriously, though, the soccer ball and hacky sack suggestions would be more of a crunch/cycling motion due to the focus on the contraction.)
realized that the superman is still a good one.
any other thoughts for the back / obliques... or reverse crunches (/focus on the extension)?
thanks for the thoughts.

Get a redcord set up. There's several you can do
Here's a vid I saw on twitter the other day, second half of the clip shows one that doesn't involve any upperbody

Sit on a fitness ball, feet off the ground. Balancing yourself engages your core.

There's some good Yoga poses that strengthen abs. Especially boat pose. No crunches, and many don't use the upper body. Here's a link to a few. Ignore the first ones that use the upper body, but you should be able to do 6-10.

I really dig the foundation training stuff. Amazing for back/posture/hamstrings/hips if you do the whole shebang.

awesome. as a former resident of SF who used to do yoga for 2h/day 5 days/week, i should'a known better! that was an awesome reminder. some of those are great options. (some i don't currently have the ROM for, but that will come.)

I summon thee, Jaytron.
![Jandro is offline](images/statusicon/user_offline.gif)
Brown Bear, Sqrl Hunter
I have been summoned.
It's a great bike. I loved it. I decided to move on because it flexed under REALLY hard acceleration as I became a stronger rider. I'm a pretty big dude... pure track sprinter though, so take that as you will. I could definitely feel it flex on very hard accels from low speed.
That being said, a few of the cat 1/2/3 dudes use them and seem to love them. For the price, they are pretty rad bikes. PM me if you're interested, I still have mine laying around 56cm.

My shop has a Bianchi in stock but man I can't get over the colors, that thing is hideous. It's like puke green(no hate).
