Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No Safeway here.

Does the beetrootkraut have chunks of beetroot in it? Or is it mostly just juice?

It looks like we're gonna save the finger minus the tendon that allows it to flex above the second knuckle. They tell me I'll be released from the hospital on Wed. Thence begins 4-6 weekly dr. visits in covid land with an immune system compromised by antibiotics. Is there anything I can do for the immune system under that regime?

Never looked that closely. If I have some tomorrow I'll be sure to analyze it.

My grandmother used to make sauerkraut in a big crock in here basement. It had caraway seeds in it and was absolutely delicious. Have not had any commercial kraut that's even close. I miss her and her cooking dearly. Her lemon meringue and chocolate cream pies were amazing, and always made together.

Annual bonus in Friday’s paycheck. Would cover a nice power meter and some black market TP...

My mom and brother used to make sauerkraut too, in a huge crock with a black bag of water on top and they’d always make a huge choucroute garni for my dad’s birthday. Caraway, wine, and a little brown sugar were added during the cooking.

I was visited by the stomach flu fairy in the middle of the night. As usual, feeling drug out this morning after such an episode.

The hot dog is barely nicked in the process as the blade retracted just as it touched the hot dog. It essentially destroys the blade if you get your finger in there, but that's better than a trip to the hospital.
I think that won't go on just any saw. Mine is an old Craftsman. But yeah, I'm aware of it.

This is cute:

https://www.inquirer.com/entertainme...A0rRZcMAlJN3MM

"Shakespeare in Gloves" and "Don't Stand by Me" are two of my favorites.

I've got one of my own: "There's Something About Fauci."

In case you are too lazy to read the (entire) piece, the theater holding the contest and the surrounding area is where "The Blob" was filmed. IMO, McQueen's finest work.

I think WF has it, at least here, and HEB does as well. Most decent grocery stores probably do.

I don't know. People on my commute this morning sure took the opportunity to make it worse for everyone, though. 3 separate wrecks, one of which backed up both East and West bound traffic on a major highway. That takes talent.

My co-op has it, too. If you see someone on the street that is carrying reusable canvas bags and that smells of patchouli, just follow them - they're going to a place that has it.

I had snow on my walk to the co-op yesterday. No snow today and it may even get up to 30°A by noon or so.
