"The race will be held rain or shine. If there is a severe weather threat, the race may be cancelled during its progression. The safety of our riders is our priority.
In the case of a cancellation, the riders will be turned around as you meet the timing car, and your time will be recorded.
Please place your warm clothes for the decent in a plastic bag, inside your rider bag. This will help to insure your items are dry when you pick them up at the summit. If you do not make it to the summit, your bags will be available at the Award/ Expo area later in the afternoon.
Racing at 14,000 feet above sea level is exhilarating and challenging in unique ways, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this iconic event with you!"
Sounds like fun!

It seemed long just to warm up. They don't have warmups in other kinds of races.

Funny story, I was doing the Radio Tower climb this past winter and was pushing so hard, when suddenly I thought I broke the trainer when everything collapsed, but it was really me pulling my rear wheel out from the horizontal dropout. I have zero desire to do that stupid climb again. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.
sincerely,
Velo Vol

I'm not looking forward to today's group ride. Besides being the oldest and fattest, we are supposed to be around 100° "real feel" by the end of our ride when I will be even older.

its ok. I like your dad jokes. Riding weather sounds awesome. I'm on the opposite side of the state wishing I could ride.
Had lunch at Chipotle yesterday and saw the Sofritos on the menu and thought of you. I was ascared to order it, had chicken instead.

Maybe in a couple weeks I'll go see a baseball game. I'll have to bring the binoculars and sit in the worst seats so there's no one within a safe radius though, it being a mostly indoor stadium. OR I guess I could buy a block of 9 good seats to keep a distance, if I hit the lottery
