I really liked the way PenVelo did it back about 20 years ago. Saturday and Sunday they had group rides that stayed together the first 8 miles, then split into racers on the one hand and recreational/century riders on the other. Saturdays the recreational group went its own way the rest of the ride, but Sundays we did a smaller loop than the racers so we could all meet up in Woodside to do the last 8 miles as close to together as we could manage - meaning a lot of us got shelled on the last two hills before the final sprint, but the more you rode, the later you fell off the back. Recreational was No Drop (mostly), but the racer group was No Mercy.

Back in the day, women's watches were so tiny they were damn near unreadable. In fact they used to advertise that your wife's watch should fit through her wedding ring. I have one of Mom's from about 1960. The entire movement is smaller than a dime. THAT was fun to work on, let me tell you!

I'm going to sound like a ****** here, but...

Speaking of inventory shortages and demand spikes, I can not reliably find my chosen oat milk in stock any more and it's starting to piss me off. I went through so many brands and varieties, trying them for both flavor and frothing texture/consistency (morning latte) and finally landed on a favorite, Oatly Full Fat - it's been the best overall and was widely available. Now, though, it seems to sell out all of the time. On Saturday, we swung by the co-op and they actually had a bunch in stock. The wife and I joked that we should buy three or four, but walked out with just one, figuring they'd be around for a while. I went back there today - zilch. Sold out.

The next time I see some, I'm going to get all Costco shopper and load up whatever I can realistically work through within the sell-by date.

Let's just say I wouldn't specialize in working on womens' vintage watches. The women I know who collect and wear vintage watches go with men's models anyway.

The matched wheels have arrived! These have bright RX100 hubs but gray Trek Matrix rims. I'm pretty sure they came off a mid-90s bike, and I'm also sure that bike didn't see a lot of action - the brake tracks are almost pristine!

I'm going to repack them tonight, though they spin pretty well. Just not perfectly.

I just had the new brown sugar oat milk latte at starbucks. I tend to stay away from that place, but this was amazing. My taste buds were in heaven , and I instantly wanted more.

I do that with the lemon aid/ice tea I like. I buy as much as I can when they have it. The others can drink soda.

My inclination is to only allow those that register with an active email/cell phone number to ride (for contact tracing) and include covid19 risk in BS club waiver....and limit to 10 riders (larger groups split into two). That's reasonable IMO given circumstances.

I took today off to finish the mud work on the drywall in the basement today. I also, went to the dentist, and dropped off my tax junk @ the preparers.
These last 3 -4 days are catching up with me. I have one more spot that needs to be filled and feathered with mud before bed. I will sand the drywall this week. Hopefully start the painting after that. Then the drop ceiling repair next weekend. Also base trim will need to be installed.The master bath is completed. Finished the cabinets paint and hardware yesterday. Then it's time to begin moving out/ strorage/ trash. .

My hands are wrecked! Split, dry, rough. It's like I'm back in the field again ....

Careful - those might almost certainly have a metric **** ton sugar in them. That said, it was actually on a VA trip that I started thinking about oat milk at home. My wife is lactose intolerant and usually does soy milk, but they didn't have any at SBucks at the time, so she got oat milk instead. I tried it and really liked (this was just a plain latte). At this point, I straight-up prefer oat milk to whole milk for my lattes (which is really the only time that I consume milk). Oh, and then there's my protein powder - Whole. Lee. ****. It is *so* tasty when mixed with oat milk.
