Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Minyon Falls. It's about a 100m drop over the edge here. There is a walkway that goes right up to the edge and as you can see right next to the falls although there wasn't a lot of water going over the falls today.

A panoramic shot of the area. The rising sun is just to the left of screen.

And then a 25-ish km ride to São Conrado beach:

Photos from the cheap "emergency" phone that lives in the saddle bag, no photoshop. I could say it's for authenticity, but the truth is I'm too lazy to download them to a computer. :-)

I just took this shot a couple of days ago. It's funny, all my pics of my bikes are near water. And It's not because I use water as a backdrop on purpose, I just seem to ride near a lot of canals, lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds..

That's the classic look for a road bike to me - simple, elegant, functional. I would like modern bikes SO much better if they werent slathered in loud graphics. The frame, the rims, the tires - every part you have enough room to write a logo/name on is now covered.
