Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. And I'll try not to get too fat, but you all can be the first to know if I do.

Welcome back, Kotter.

I guess Anchorman is hitting the right notes in wardrobe, though!

Yeah, I've talked before about how 'cross is generally safer than road racing. The irony is not lost on me. But I hit the ground very, very hard. Knew as soon as I tried to pick up my bike and get going again that my collarbone was broken, even though I've never done it before.

Anyway, thanks for the sympathy, everyone. Sounds like GC's BIL can use it more than me. I don't have an ortho appointment until Wednesday, but once the ball is rolling on that, I'll be fine and I'm covered for my medical bills. I guess some discomfort for a few days isn't a big deal. GC, best wishes to your BIL and family.

I understand Houston is planning on allowing powermeters in 2014 so folks will no longer need to go out of the state.

It is, except the lyrics are "Kotter," not "Carter"

It's taken us a while, but now a man can marry his powermeter in Tx and enjoy the same fitness benefits as men in Massachusetts and Washington. It's a beautiful thing.

It was the vehicle that launched John Travolta. It was a show about an inner city school remedial class that was populated by sober, english speaking mostly white kids who showed up for class and engaged in snappy banter with their teacher, also a former remedial class student, and didn't carry weapons or engage in random violence or vandalism.

John Sebastion did the theme song.

It exactly mirrored my high school, except for all of it. Our show would have been called "**** you you ******* ****" and this would have been our theme song:

I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up a chair and they sat down, they go:
Mike, we need to talk to you
And I go:
Okay what's the matter
They go:
Me and your mom have been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of problems,
You've been going off for no reason and we're afraid you're gonna hurt somebody,
We're afraid you're gonna hurt yourself.
So we decided that it would be in your interest if we put you somewhere
Where you could get the help that you need.

...speaking of ignorance of history... we debate old sitcoms with the younger generation. To the kids perception, we are just doddering old fools nattering on about some cloud. Some of us can vaguely remember that feeling anyway.

I change the chain when the guy at the shop tells me to. I try to avoid riding in the rain, because I'm an American and we can afford cars here. At least for now.

A certain healthcare law eliminated catastrophic care insurance.
