I agree . If I weren't picking up another bike today I would have it already. I may be able to facilitate.

Wow. Quite a deal. Those pedals are certainly incongruous, though.

This has the dreaded word "project" in the title, but for $100 maybe someone will be willing to sort it out.

[h=2]63cm, Schwinn "Premis" Road Bike (Project) - $100 (appleton, WI)[/h]63cm, Schwinn "Premis" Road Bike (Project)

63cm,1988, Schwinn "Premis" road bike in good cosmetic condition. Made w/ lugged and butted "Columbus" chromoly steel. It's an awesome blue/violet/purple color scheme. Nice 3t aerobars, Suntour "Cyclone"and Shimano 600 (tri-color) components. will need a new rear cassette, tires, cables and seatpost pin. This is a parts bike

On this one...just go buy it, part it out...and sell the frame...at $100, you will be able to do well...and, who knows, there may be parts you retain!

No more of a "project" than any other C/V bike that hasn't been immaculately maintained.

I think if that was near me I would have a have hard time staying away from that white crank and RD for $100. You can resell the 600 brakes (if they are) and the frame to get some of your Franklin back.

Grail bike (for me). Glad it's not my size, otherwise I might have had an anxiety attack.

Hah, I saw that and thought about posting it here. And hey, for American buyers, that Canadian price tag of $1900 is basically $1500USD.

Am I the only one who thinks that asking price is utterly outrageous? It's a decent production bike with merckx decals and campy, but I'm not seeing this as being in that kind of class. I passed on one at $600, though condition was not as nice.

I can't really comment on the price, given that the bikes are basically unobtanium (from what I've seen, or rather not seen in this case). So comps are hard to come by.

I didn't realize they were uncommon...I've seen a few and thought they were made in fairly high numbers. I'm hardly knowledgeable anout them.

Just saw this on my local CL today. An hour or so south of me. And right on the US border at Point Roberts, WA.

Did seem rather pricey to me, though. But I don't know much about these bikes.

Spoke to the seller. Bike is here in the USA (Chicago), but he's casting a wide (read: global) net in terms of the sale, which I thought was pretty shrewd given the collectible nature of this bike.

This guy eventually got back to me, said a bike shop tech told him the bike was more valuable than he thought, sorry for the inconvenience, and he relisted it at $175.
I can't blame him, but my curiosity would have led me to check it out at the $25 price, not $175. It may well be worth it, dunno, but I am not that interested in a racy bike.

Yeah, I think $175 is pushing it for that bike in that condition.
