Okay but a little too much. No more than 50 TSS for recovery and stay off of MUPS. If you see a flat bar assassin, duck into a coffee/donut shop.

If you can, downgrade your bike and add stupid pointless stuff to it like a flag or basket. Nobody likes being passed by an inferior bike, this is a surefire way to trigger a race. Eat the aero loss and extra weight, you don't care. Maybe ride a tandem solo

Hands off your handlebars. Your are out for a casual ride and not trying hard, once you start hammering you can get in your drops.

Lower your speed, if someone passes you, destroy them. varying your speed gets people overconfident and thinking they can hang with you.

When passing someone, compliment their pace and tell them it took a lot out of you to catch them, especially if they were slow. Lots of people are out for base miles, but you can mess up their recovery ride if you're savvy enough. Remember that its their fault for blowing themselves up chasing you.

At which point in this routine do you start chugging the mescaline?

How should I feel?

Like you need a ghost writer. You won't be going to lunch on stories that dull.

I... would you rather I made up a story instead of telling what happened?

I think pretty much anything would make for a better story than telling us what happened so, yes, if you could make up a story that actually had a point, I would prefer that.

You also might want to rethink this "posts in the form of a question" thing you got going on. Kinda feels like you're wearing a "kick me" sign.

It's ok if you don't understand the point, but I think you do.

You were coasting in a rest interval, so no biggie. Did they say "hi" or even "on your left/right?" Being a tri person yourself, you know they were probably in the zone. I wouldn't worry about unless you knew them. If they were from a rival tri club, I would inform the rest of your gang/crew/club. Set up a war council and decide a course of action.

Oh, I know who they are - they're the Austin Tri Club and they're out there every Tuesday and Thursday morning. They've invited me to ride with but I'm with another club (out of the same shop) and prefer to get my rides in solitude. I even donate some of my older equipment to their rookies though.

Did have a roadie blow my doors off this morning. It was a recovery ride, but it wouldn't have mattered - he would have gotten me anyway. Roadie though, with lycra and drop bars.
