Zwift? Your guess is a good as mine. I could not find anything on Zwift Insider. I was happy to get the wheel set. I am 45% up Mount Everest.
Yeah I use the glowing Tron bike most of the time. If doing an event up AdZ or something - i'll select lightweight stuff. I actually configure the Cadex TT bike with disc wheel setup fairly regularly since I like to go for some of the flat segments in the ~10 or more minute range, where it makes a difference.

Jim (ERO guy) has come down to the San Diego velodrome a few times to setup some local riders/racers/teammates in TT positions. I'm considering it. I think I'd want to get a new bike first (rim brake - Giant Trinity) before taking a more focused dive on improving my TT. But, I'm probably 2-3 seasons away from having the funds and being in a good spot to focus on that. I do look forward to having a dedicated push in improving my TT in the coming seasons. There are events every year that I get excited about featuring a TT - VoS, SCNCA district ITT/TTT champs, and our own local series.

That's pretty crazy. My heart rate never did anything other than just get up high for a brief moment during the hardest efforts in the race, but quickly came back down as expected.

Easy endurance spin for an hour. Just enough to move the legs around and it felt amazing. Cannot wait to see where this next block of higher intensity takes me...

I have a pre-rio iO and a FFWD 5-spoke. I have set all my F200 PRs on the iO.

That said, I now run different tires on them - with heavier duty road racing tires on the FFWD for use at non-major events, since all my tracks are outdoors, and the concrete can tear up Pista Speeds pretty quickly.

50' of O/U 2' @ 360w, 8' @ 290w, back to back to back, with another hour of endurance.

My 20/30/60/90 min power are all at record levels over the last two weeks, though I'm still seeing lower HR vs power at the moment. My RHR is also down about 5 bpm, which is within 1 bpm of all time low. Not sure what to make of it. My coach thinks the racing and lots of effort over vo2 max may have improved cardiac output a bit. I'm sure temporary if so. I guess we will see.

I sure wish I could get to 70kg at this power level haha.

Zwift "Big Spin" ride again this morning. Got the earphones this time.

Did it on my IRL TT bike with zero resistance so I could get some time in position. My club has their next TT in about a month so I will try to ride my TT bike twice per week until then, one of them being outdoors and harder, other indoors and light. I missed the first one since it was too close to my hernia surgery.

Almost stole the kom competition from the local pro that lives in the Umstead gravel. Not literally but figuratively. It’s a fun thing a local team puts on but since there are no groups of riders it’s always a forgone conclusion going to the couple of local pros.

But to give him a scare at the kom on the last day was worth it. From a cat 4 rider at that. Lol.

gonna ride my TT bike outside tomorrow. its so much harder to ride that damn thing out in the wild (vs on the trainer or on a race course). It is NOT configured or setup nicely to navigate traffic, etc. Too aggressive. Plus the brakes suck real bad.

gotta my club ITT in a month and then the district SCNCA TTT champs a couple weeks after that. time to practice going fast.

Nice ride out there today. Tightened the brakes on my TT rig which helped a lot in getting down to the island. I think the pad compound is super soft - gotta switch back to Reynold blue.

Ran into a teammate and fellow TTT participant. We rode 20' side by side chatting, mostly in aero. He had to leave and I felt good so I did another 10' into z4, one notch below ITT race pace. Got home without incident.

Next week it will be time to put some actual efforts in on this thing!

Track workout last night at VSC. Ended up doing 5 kilos. Still riding the sprint bars - no pursuit bars.

5 kilos! Holy.

I did a slew of Big Spin rides. Got 5 little things, including something like socks for the 5th ride which I late joined. 6th ride bike. 7th ride I went for the sprint segment time (London) and was so gassed I forgot about the spin bit and didn't see what I got. 8th ride I checked my garage, there was nothing new, so I got some duplicate. However, on that 8th ride, I got the wheels.

I want the London kit, love the Sex Pistols homage. I have a hard time resisting the sprint segment and I have a real race Sunday, so need to chill when I do the ride. Might give it a shot or two tomorrow as long as I remember to take it easy. Actually, I might ride the track bike in a low gear, that would keep me corralled.

Also, Dolan! I watched a recent UK championship of some sort, I think Juniors, and 5 of 6 starters had the same Dolan as me. I have no equipment excuses. lol.

Wanted to ride Fiesta yesterday but the weather looked iffy. I opted for Zwift (weather turned out okay) and did two routes. The first was a track style warmup. For the roll up seated jump, I got 541 watts in 10 sec. For the roll up standing jump, I unlocked Zwift banners for 700 and 800 watts in 10 sec actual was 840. My typical numbers when in shape are more like 700 seated and 1100 standing.

Then I rode with a D Bot Bernie for 1:13 minutes with a coffee break at 30 minutes. I was a hammer in that ride and rode at the front, then went back to the bot then rode to the front and etc. I am probably ready for the Migel bot.

I keep shooting for the trispoke wheels (even if they're not as good as aero or light as the best disk wheels I already have), but keep coming up short.

After a Big Spin warmup (Greater London Flat), I tried doing a race on Makuri 40.

In the end of January, I had surgery to remove a recurrent bone tumor. By mid February, I was coming back into form (35 km in Z1/Z2 4 days after surgery, and, very carefully, started building up from there). Then, I felt a pop in my leg near the site of the surgery (while giving teaching a class, not while doing anything strenuous or riding), and things went downhill very quickly. Ended up spending the last 6 days of February in the hospital with an infection at the surgical site (among other complications).

Finally getting back onto the bike now. Long way of saying I had to pull the plug at about km 30 (actually the last 3 km were cooldown, after letting the pack go at ~ 27 km) of the Makuri 40. Fitness just isn't there yet. I probably could have pushed it further into the red and stuck with the pack a bit longer, but, a year ago, I overdid it coming out of Covid and ended up with an overuse injury. Don't want that again. Trying to spend more time working on my core and easing back into this riding thing. That ever increasing number (I think right now it's about 800k) that Strava is showing me I'm behind on my yearly goal already really hurts, but I think I need to turn it off as I need to be smart about coming back. One of my ZRL teammates is a personal trainer, he's the one who is running the Zoom core/calisthenics/overall body training class I take once a week, and he fully cosigned on me dropping (we'd talked about where I expected to get dropped).

TT bike work in the garage, light endurance. Did one of the "Big Spin" rides, and got the helmet again.

First IRL TTT practice on Wednesday next week - looking fwd to it

Did my first Crit last night and set double digit power PR's for 20/30/40-minute time frames. Haven't been able to ride much lately due to work, but can't complain about finishing 7/24. Almost got to 3w/kg for 20 minutes. Sucks being 195 lbs right now.

Today I was rewarded with breaking my all time 5' power record and making the 400w club, with gas left in the tank. If I could only get my 20' power to that level...

impressive watts procrit!

4:30 AM wake up call for me tomorrow morning, gotta get the TT bike ready (and associated gear) for TTT practice at 6 AM on Fiesta Island. Hopefully we have a low key evening and the child permits us some sleep (yeah right...)

from this morning's (virtual) TT on "Triple Flat Loops". Was super low energy last night for some reason so I felt tentative about going hard today. Aimed for a reasonable target and ended up pushing the AP up 5 watts in the second half. I think I would have had 10+ more watts on a better day. Next time!

3/3 in the A's, 3/39 overall
