I didn't ride today. I did do 3.5 hours yesterday though and got snowed on for the last hour of it. I haven't wanted to just be home so badly since the first day of kindergarten.

My training partner takes a week off to ski and still stomps on me. Ugh.

Sounds like a typical December/Jan training day in these parts. I can't count how many times I've had to stop at a gas station for hot coffee to thaw my jaw and hands out so I could make it home.

Still not feeling it today..cut it short at 35 minutes. Thinking I may have overdone it this past weekend. Going to try and get to bed earlier than normal tonight

Legs not coming around even after resting for a few days but I feel mentally fresh and want to do some intensity. Going to go to the gym and do 2' @Doge intervals on the concept2!

Imagine the agony of wanting to go riding when you'very been off the bike for over 3 weeks, half way around during the world, in sub zero temp, without a bike, and 10 lbs above race weight.

Yep. I did a century before with a buddy of mine.....forecast said it was gonna be in the mid 70's and dry, but apparently it decided to drop to 63 degrees and a full-on downpour at the 65 mile mark. Had on just a cycling jersey and bib shorts. Buddy got a flat tire, and is the slowest.person.in.the.world at changing it. Took him literally a half hour to change it the first time - then as he was pumping up the new tube, POP....you guessed it, a half hour later, and we're back on the road. A total of about an hour to change the tubes while getting poured on as we were in a residential area with no real cover. I was too cold and too annoyed to move. By the time we got back to pedaling, I had a full-on body shiver going.....pedaling was really interesting. About 2-3 miles later, his tire was flat again, so I kinda moved him out of the way and changed it myself (had a cut in his tire near the rim, causing the issues - I whipped out a Park Tire Boot for the win). Good times.

I was offered a hit off a joint on my ride tonight while stopped at a red light in full roadie kit. I declined.

Aah, Ok. Anyway, so I did a couple of 500m rowing efforts at maybe 90% and could only do 1:55. More than lungs and heart, my bi/triceps (mainly) and palms (have to learn to hold the handle properly I guess) were hurting, haha. 1:30 is super hard!

90' on the rollers. 3*20'. first one felt fine. started struggling on the second and just felt empty on the third. not terribly surprising given the workouts i did the past two days.
then 40' fg commuting.

I am taking the next 7-10 days off. New coach thinks I'm on the verge of Overtraining. And I think she may be right. I can't seem to get going on the bike at all. I'm actually really looking forward to not doing anything.

I rode for 3hrs this morning at mid/high z2, with 5x 1' at 150-175% by feel. I felt just great throughout the whole ride!
I took four days off the bike surrounding last weekend for our Mexico trip, and came back with a head cold, so my riding this week has been pretty tame. It feels good to get a solid workout in! Up next: 1hr with 2x4' efforts and otherwise easy, off Sat, then racing Sun!!!
