Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The other day, Bam was lost someplace in Mexico - Mexico City, Juarez, Mirada - he wasn't sure. I suspect it was probably Tiajuana. In any event, I think I saw him making his way back via DFW today.

I would be concerned if the car is capable of DC charging. Some Spark EVs are, no Volts are and most Bolt EVs are. Don't know about Nissans.

If I had an EV that I could put a bike in that would be ideal for me these days. I don't need a long range and gas is still $6 here. I actually considered a Spark when I retired because clean ones were around $10k. When gas shot up those same cars were listed for $16k.
Of course with the small amount of driving I do it wouldn't make sense, as long as my old car keeps going.
I don't really care about DC charging and even an older battery that has reduced range is not an issue. As above, the longest trip I ever take in the Saturn is 20 miles. For longer trips we can always take the Fit.

At this point, it's just talk as the Saturn is not dead yet.

Only 21? It's a young'un.

I have a good slingshot and clay ammo for use on the non-feral cats who maraud in our back yard. I don’t understand the attitude of people who keep “outdoor” cats in a densely populated area and expect their neighbors simply to accept them on their property.

As long as you're ok with the Saturn why worry? I learned about beaters from my father. He used one for going to work for years. I remember he had a Hudson he used until the block cracked, he drove it to the junkyard. That was a cool car.

I drove my beater S-10 for 18 years. Sold it with about 300K on the odo.

Is it my imagination or are we seeing a glimmer of the very strong dollar in bike part pricing? I need to replenish the strategic chain stockpile soon.

It’s grossly humid out. I feel sticky just sitting outside drinking coffee.

During the warmest months, at least, the humidity is highest first thing in the morning. As the day heats up it subsides. Prolly true in the colder months too but I never bothered to check.

I discovered, this morning, that a paper coffee filter can be used twice, but not thrice. That third time it clogs up an makes quite the mess. Be forewarned.
