Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

put the 120 mm stem from the cervelo on the Ritchey. Tried going for a bike ride with my daughter to test ride it out but she is easily distracted.

First impressions might have to raise it up 2/5 mm but the reach feels good. Once I determine where I want it I’ll chop off periscope.

You guys can all learn from my mistakes. Glad to take one for the team.

New stem is dope. Super stiff, and super low. Feels like i’m dragging my chin along the ground now. The blender system was a bonus. Was able to mount my garmin unit to the stem, which frees up my mount for the Ritchey. I wish I could mount the light too, like I have it on my Madone, but this is the original blender system so I think you can only mount one or the other.

Yall are going to think I am crazy but I’m gunna order a pair of the carbon bars off amazon. 50 dollars I can swallow, 399.99 for bars I cannot. The bars have solid reviews.

Pedestrians, mostly. Though as I understand it, poultry do sometimes traverse thoroughfares, for reasons that may be obscure.

So it's not a RAT, but I don't understand why it's got that kind of a cam lever.

Regardless, I'd replace 'em with Robert Axels, tighten'em to spec, and eliminate one item from the noisy brakes checklist.

Yeah, just find some decent, legit bars elsewhere. I mean, I realize that hitting the deck has become and every-other-week kind of thing for you (), but that's not worth saving $50-70 IMO.

I did once run into a parked car, while running, back in high school. It was at the end of track practice, coming back down a long hill to school, and everyone funneled between two cars in the parking lot. Except me.

That was a really good bruise.

I have not seen any carbon “aero” bars on sale anywhere. But I’ll keep on looking. Sold a surf board so the plan is power meter and bars. I want to make the cervelo as light as possible. I still need a set back seat post too.

Yeah, aero are usually less easy to find on sale and are usually a little more expensive. You can sometimes find some from 3T in that price range, but you have to dig.

Best I've found in a quick search - Bike 24 has my bars on sale for ~$150 + shipping. Certainly less than I paid for 'em. https://www.bike24.com/p2154461.html...1000,1868,1900
