Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I kinda think medical conditions are out of bounds, though. Like, would he make fun of a stroke victim?

I would not. But a comedian might. Not saying it’s in good taste or wise, but probably still fair game. Maybe.

Curiously, I find myself almost completely lacking in Bikelust at the moment. I used to check Craigs List and/or FB Marketplace a couple times a day, usually doing some search or other, looking for a particular brand or a particular bike. Not anymore.

both of those places are only harmful when something pops up you actually want.

So I told the wife the cycle cross bike is going to be 4 grand. She sighed, and said maybe for my birthday. which is cool, but my birthday marks the end of cycle cross season. So I started showing her bikes on Pro Closet. She said absolutely not a used bike. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing but that’s my current situation.

Worse case I get the CAAD X for 1800 new, but I would rather not get something that I will instantly want to change. Plus I am pretty sure that comes with 105.

And that's the weird thing - there's nothing I actually want. I see bikes on there, and I either think, "I already have something like that", or "Meh. Don't really want one of those."

Not a used bike? Man, used bikes are the greatest! Mostly they can be brought back close to as-new, if not cosmetically, then at least in terms of performance!

You wouldn’t want to slum it on a peasant 105 bike.

Oh I am all for 105. I plan on putting 105 on the Ritchey one day, but for a cycle cross/ gravel bike I want GRX or something similar. You don’t put road tires on a mountain bike, and take it out on the single track.

I'm really pleased with the 105 on the Canyon, and I considered that to build up the Litespeed, but Ultimate-ly (see what I did there?) decided it had to be Dura Ace or Ultegra for that frame. SO I'll stick with the old DA for now, maybe go with 6800 or 8000 in the future.

Because you done clicked on it over and over.

More creepy than your C'dale popping up, after I posted that pic of the custom bike the other day, an ad for that exact bike popped up. I did not mention the manufacturer's name or that of the bike shop, yet somehow they found me.

Hopefully they are doing the finger stick method. It’s most helpful to know the result right away.

What is your INR range supposed to be?

No idea what my numbers are. They don't finger stick, they draw it from vein and send it to lab and get results in 4 days. Not really designed for this but all the Coumadin clinics are out of network. my insurance company and the only hospitals in my area can't agree on reimbursement rates. All my doctors I saw for my issues (AFIB, back problem) last year are out of network. It's a colossal cluster. Just took day 3 pills at 9 PM. I use a reminder on my phone so I take it at the same every day.
