Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe. I'm not usually in a rush. Wrapping bars is kind of relaxing.

I could stand to change to the threadless headsets and sealed bearings. But I'd have to buy a new bike. I don't want to do that anymore. Leading up to Covid I was a volunteer maintaining a fleet of rental bikes in Merida. All of them threadless. But, with the tools and experience I have, maintenance is no issue for me. Adjusting a headset is no longer a mystery. Wheel bearings either. Or bbs.

I don’t find old tech a mystery, still have all of the pro tools to seat a headset race, face a bb shell, enough cone wrenches to fill a box, etc. but I’ll be happy if I never use any of that stuff again.

In a well-functioning economy, firms make more profits when they do what's best for the common consumer. And some parts of our economy are actually well-functioning. Some other parts, not so much.

See, this is kind of like the tape I have, but on the top she's wrapping it the wrong direction.

That's perforated tape, not polka dotted. Could be your problem right there!

They played that yesterday while we were eating pizza in front of the pizzaria. Right after some awful Eagles crap.
The song came out in 1967 and it blew my mind. Heard it on FM after midnight.

If the oldest brother was alive today he would be 90.

But are the dots where you want them to be? The video won't play and the link leads nowhere meaningful. What difference does direction make, if the dots line up?

Oops. didn't check the link.

https://www.liv-cycling.com/global/c...oad-bike/21387

I don't really care about the appearance of the dots. It's the fact that there's an off-centered stitched ridge between the dots and the logo, which works nicely as a track when you're swirling in the right direction. But if you wrap the opposite direction (leading with the polka dots ) then the ridges cover up the smooth half of the tape and it's not going to feel great when you grab it.
