we get the greenheads here on the Cape, mostly. I don't mind them even if their mandible? looks like a saw mill blade. because they are slow, meaning they land & take their time finding the right spot. easy prey for my hand. one time they were so bad, while I was sitting on my blanket I killed 13 within the span of 15? minutes. little tip many may know, when flies take off, they take off backwards. so when swatting, go at them from behind

Ever have a bug fly into your ear? This happened to me a couple times when I was a kid--I think it was flying ants both times.

Damn that hurt! They actually try to fly around inside your ear--you can feel and hear the flapping We actually had to drown them by putting water into my ear before they could be flushed out.
