Vey nice work, but doesn’t a fender in the rear call for one in the front? To me it looks out of balance.

There are no mount points on the fork for a front fender. I am leaning toward having a friend attach the old one now that I have been advised on the best way to go about it. But plenty of bikes with this fork go with no or just back fenders.

TBH, the front fender would just look like clutter on that fork as you have it set up. And with the kind of riding you're doing, a front fender has no functional purpose.

I'm pretty sure that reducing the tire resistance is going to feel better, heavy weight or not. Nothing urgent, but a good modification that could be done when these tires need to be replaced. I can tell you from riding cruisers and comfort bikes that the difference in resistance is very noticeable, making the machine feel much less like a beast.
