bicycle frame material: steel
bicycle type: road
frame size: 62
wheel size: 700C
Vintage Lugged Steel – Angel Rodriguez-Tonard Import – 24.5” Touring -- $600
Vintage Lugged Steel – Angel Rodriguez-Tonard Import – 24.5” Touring -- $600
Here is a vintage steel frame with a unique heritage.
In the 1970s, Seattle framebuilder Angel Rodriguez sold some house brand bikes through his R&E Cycles, which were made for him by Tonard Brothers in the UK. This is one of those frames, and comes from the original owner, who purchased it through Rodriguez’s shop in the late 1970s.
This is a very nicely build British frameset, reminiscent of a Holdsworth or Mercian, with elegant lugwork and wrap-around seat stay caps. (I have been told that Tonard was a sub-contractor for Holdsworth and other UK builders.)
It is painted in a stunning deep, rich metallic purple by Seattle framebuilder and R&E partner, Glenn Erickson. Just gorgeous when the sun hits it! (Look at the close-up picture of the seat stay tops to see the incredible depth of this color and the skill and beauty of the lug work. )
Frame:
This is a tall frame, with a relatively upright/comfortable “touring” position.
Seat Tube: approx. 24.5” or 62.5cm center to center
Top Tube: approx. 22” or 57cm center to center
34.5” stand-over height
Reynolds 531 Double Butted tubing.
Frame has eyelets on forks and rear drop-outs for attaching touring racks.
Frame has “drop-bolts” on the brakes, and looks as if it was designed to take both 700c wheels (as currently equipped) or 27” wheels.
Components:
Campagnolo Nuovo Record front and rear derailleurs (dated 1984)
Campagnolo “Script” Super Record brakes and levers
Campagnolo shifters
Phil Wood sealed hubs (with brushed steel barrels) laced to Mavic CXP 30 deep rims
w/ Michelin tires and Campagnolo skewers
Campagnolo super Record headset
Specialized (Nitto) stem and Cinelli handlebars
Silca frame pump, painted to match frame
Sugino Crankset
Phil Wood sealed bottom bracket
Campagnolo Nuovo Record pedals
Sugino Seat Post
Campagnolo seat post clamp
Pearl Izumi Saddle
All components in excellent working order. Frame is straight and true, with a few small scuffs and some scratches that have been touched-up. Some damage to one of the brake levers. Brake pads have been replaced.
$600 OBO
All proceeds from this sale benefit the non-profit Bike Concord “Bike Shed” at Olympic High School, serving those in need of basic quality transportation in the Concord area.
PLEASE RESPOND WITH A PHONE/TEXT NUMBER AND A NAME. HAPPY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. I DO NOT TAKE ONLINE OFFERS. THE BIKE CAN BE SEEN IN WALNUT CREEK AT THE BART STATION OF NEAR SPORTS BASEMENT ON YGNACIO VALLEY ROAD.

I think a Grand Jubilee from 1974-76 with 3-main-tubes Reynolds 531, can't tell how much of the gruppo is OEM, pix are too murky. Should be a fine rider for one Benjamin!
Roger M beat me to it by a minute! I can add this has an early black DA shift lever, maybe that means more early DA? Sure would be nice to see a clear DS shot but for the asking price I'd go take a look!

Um... the title implies 3 bikes, but the ad is all about the SuperLeggera.
Also, I am pretty sure that is Athena, not Chorus (could be wrong tho...).
https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/bi...455414768.html
61cm SuperLeggera is low mileage, nearly all original and truly all Italian one notch down cosmetically from the Specialissima (Both truly Italian made not just a foil sticker)
It’s in good condition, needs minor touch ups, no signs of mis/abuse.
The rear wheel has fresh cheap tire, brgs are bit loose and needs a bit of truing. I’ll get to it
Campy Chorus 7sp indexed dt shifters, 13-23 Regina looks primo, original 36h FIR clincher/Campy hubs are nice too. This appears to have had very modest use early on,
it may have original Vredstein front tire clearly showing its age
No significant mechanical wear anywhere. It was beyond the comfort range of the second owner so it sat since he bought in mid 90’s and gained some scrapes. He had crappy bars,a ridiculously dorky heavy riser stem.
I saved the original bar tape and have an ITM setup if you prefer vs. the scratchy TTT setup from my stash
Yes I’ll take a few bucks less
Delivery within 75 mi possible w non refundable $75 deposit

If I had more room and didn't already have a 720, I'd be holding onto this.
1984 Trek 620, XL (63cm seat tube CTC, 60cm top tube CTC), Reynolds 531CS tubes. Long wheelbase, stable geometry. Legendary touring bike.
Built with very lightly used Suntour 3x6 AT/XC with really nice indexed barcon shifters. Dia Compe cantilevers actuated by Shimano 105 levers with aero routing to clean things up just a smidge. Maillard front and Suntour rear hubs laced to 36h hard anodized Matrix rims, wide by the standards at the time (23mm outer). Brand new (just purchased, never ridden) SwiftTire (by Panaracer) folding Sand Canyon 32mm tires with room to spare. Slightly older Cinelli stem (with the sought after old "Cinelli Milano" logo) holding Cinelli bars (with some zagging/scratches) that were just wrapped. SR Laprade seat post and super cool Selle Italia leather/sueded saddle.
Re condition, it presents really well and has charming patina without any structural issues whatsoever. The original paint sparkles. There are scrapes and scratches and some marks from a kick stand clamp (the latter of which is totally hidden behind the BB). The bottom Delrin cup from the cool original Stronglight needle bearing headset is cracked and should probably be replaced, though the races are separate and metal. I'll include another new headset (Tange, I think) with the sale, if you'd prefer to swap it out instead of replacing the cup.
$550.
A bit random, but would consider trade/partial trade for pre-1960s sports cards, pop art (eg, Keith Haring prints), etc
1984 Trek 620 touring/gravel/commuting - $550 (Jamaica Plain)
