Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

All my riders have Brooks(or selle anatomica) saddles and none have upturned bars

Well, well - the less flamboyant colors (black or navy) of the lightweight tights that I'd mentioned have gone on sale for $175. The burgundy are still $25 less, and are more my flavor, but I figure some of youse more boring guys might be interested

Plenty of lightweight options for out-front mounts, that can accommodate both a computer and a light/camera, on stems with standard four bolt face plates.

I don’t get it. Today my hands were fine. Latex gloves underneath my PI winter gloves.

My feet however, not okay.

I had on socks, wool socks over the socks, toe covers, booties, and neoprene super thick booties.

Feet still got cold.

If a vapor barrier is working on the hands try it on the feet. I just use produce bags under my socks. Keeps all the insulating layers dry and I am not even aware of the moisture on the feet. In fact, I am sometimes surprised by the bags when I take my socks off.

I am guessing the "laces" velcro/boa may have been too tight. But there are too many variables to say for sure.

I would think someone who bought a Waterford might have some idea on bike fit. They are available full custom and you wouldn't need the contraption look of that bike. Maybe not the original owner.

Reminds me of when I was selling my CAAD5 and took it to work to meet up with a buyer, While it was in the shop 2 different guys talked about buying it. They were each about 5'6", or so, and the frame was a 63cm. They insisted they could "make it work". They also said they never paid more than $50 for a used bike.

When the actual interested guy showed up he bought it. He was 6'3".

When I was checking FB Marketplace and Craigslist at least daily for new victims bikes, some of my favorite ads to read were the ones for 58 or 60cm bikes with the saddle slammed down onto the top tube, where the seller said, "I'm 5'8", and it fits me.", and I'd think, 'No No, it doesn't. Not even remotely.'

The Enve aero stem is not a 4 bolt, but there is a bracket that holds computer and light, but it's close to $100. Brings bar/stem combo to close to $1,000. A lot of coin for a mid-zoot bike.

I forget, sometimes, that I'm so far behind the times on these things. I have never had cartridge bearing hubs, and so they don't come to mind.

I think these guys didn't know frames came in different sizes, or at least they didn't know you could select a frame to fit your body.

Reminds me of another guy I knew who said there was "no way" the bikes in the TDF could cost more than about $300.

The tenant moved out of a rental house a few doors down and they have been renovating it for weeks. They started stripping the roof but stopped for a couple weeks because of rain. Yesterday they stripped the whole roof and today there is a crew up there working in the rain. Seems like a bad idea.

But I would be green with enve if your bike had it.

Thanks for posting. I’m debating about just letting the bike shop do it. The mavic rear wheel has a small bend that I would like to be fixed. Might be easier just to have them do everything.
