To be fair the amount of people telling him to mount it to the top tube (where something as heavy as a golf club could easily come loose and get caught up in a wheel) shows that even stupid questions can have dumber answers. OP learn to ride one handed... or your backpack idea isn't terrible but id rather just ride one handed. You really dont need much skill. "hopping curves" is much harder than riding one handed and you have to do that on your 5 minute commute
You seriously think it is a difficult technical challenge to fasten the club securely enough for a 5 minute ride?! 1 tie right behind the club head, the other three quarters or so up the shaft. Club head closest to the front wheel. Just use some velcro strips that cinch tight, and the thing ain't moving over that kind of distance.
And what the hell does "hopping curves" mean? Turning in midair?

Just quit playing golf and concentrate on your cycling.
Personally, I got frustrated with golf. Never could seem to get the timing right on the little windmill vanes.

Think harder before you post. If that's possible.

Does it matter if you are right handed or left handed?

No one has asked the really important questions yet - how tall is he and what club is he carrying? Is he 6’3” and carrying a pitching wedge or is he 5’2” trying to carry a driver with an oversized titanium head??? Get all of the info before posting recommendations, folks.

Tape a plastic club divider tube to the top tube, slide the club in and secure the clubhead.
50 years ago I rode my bike to the pro shop to pick up a Ping putter I had ordered. That was the solution we found and I'm still using that putter today.

Polo style. Then you’ll be ready to take out side view mirrors of anyone who’s parked in the bike lane.

A golf club is a small object? Not it's several feet long. You used the word stupid, not me, but it applies.

Small is relative. See above where I said I've carried a cello on a bike. Also several feet long and much wider than a golf club.
I agree, your golf club question is stupid. I think you know where you should put your golf club.
