Pretty sure none of my grandparents ever drove a car. My mother didn't learn until she was in her 40s. She only had one minor fender bender in her life.
fwiw I drive "like a grandma" most of the time. I had a neighbor try to pass me on our street as I was going less than the speed limit (25).
I stay out of the fast lane when the freeways are open. I'm only willing to go 70-75 (speed limit is 65) when lots of drivers are doing 75-80 and some are at 80+. These speeds make for some horrific crashes.

My mom crashed during her first license test on a closed course. My dad had a partially paralyzed right hand from being turned around during a breach birth and never drove. My sister has never had a license. My family didn’t own a car between ‘83 and ‘95.
I’m a cautious and excellent driver.

My dad's mother never drove, my aunt didn't get a driver's license till she was almost 30.
I had my license revolked by my parents, @ 17, based on my grandfather saying I'm a maniac behind the wheel. His car ran out of gas and he walked to our house in freezing Temps during a blizzard. I took him to get gas, and jump start his car.
My dad quit driving when he retired due to road rage. My mom thought he was going to have a heart attack.
I drive in the left lane because I am passing..... everyone. If you are in 2nd place you are just the first looser.

Hey, genejockey , Zwift is better on a computer, as you said. Marginally, but enough to be worth carrying the laptop to the basement.

I hosted TG dinner so I didn’t need to do any traveling at all this weekend. Car hasn’t moved since Wednesday. We will see what Christmas has in store for us.

This is how my ex wife drove. If a car passed her she would pass it back, or at least match speed with it. When we had the long commute from the mountains she got 4 speeding tickets in about a year. Besides the fines, our insurance doubled. According to her, each of the tickets was the cop's fault.

I’m an excellent driver as long as you don’t include parking in which case, I’m a terrible driver.
