Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Terrible.

I already posted about this here, but you may not have seen it.

My uncle had a somewhat similar problem. He went into the hospital in December with a heart valve infection and other issues. He had major heart surgery, but died a couple weeks later.

My memory is that I started telling the EMT that I wasn’t a junkie. I also remember signing consent forms with an X because I didn’t have the coordination to sign my name.
Wow!! 😱😳 That’s a stunning story. I wish you a speedy recovery, whatever that looks like.

Do you know what brought on the sepsis?

I rode in the desert in the afternoon but haven't wordled in several days.

This sign always cracks me up. Glad they didn't put signs up for all the switchbacks!

The other thing is the Chief Scientific Officer seems to think I have a gift for what I do. I have no idea if he's right because to me, it seems pretty simple and obvious. So I'll keep doing it, and either he's right or he's wrong, but in either case I'm gonna keep milking that cow while she's still producing.
