Raising the Abyss
From today's ride -- Rye, CO (southern portion of the Greenhorn Highway). Made it up to 9500' -- not bad for late Oct in Colorado.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've lived. And even better is that a whole variety of beauty is all within driving distance.

As for flipping them, if you have a photo with the view on the left side, and you flip it, it makes the view on the right side. I like the view as if I were riding. So the first becomes the second. Though I did have to flip the sign back.

I'm using the the photos for my screen saver on my TV. It's not like I'm messing with them and then putting them back out there (other than here as example, of which I will delete if the owner objects). It's posted on an open forum after all. I just simply like the photo to be free of cars and people and bikes and such.

(And just keep in mind that even if photos are posted on a public forum, the ownership of the photo still rests with the person who took the photo.)

Heading back down Highway 39
Rode Wednesday up Highway 39 to Angeles Crest Highway and then up to Dawson Saddle. From our starting point, 4,200 feet of climbing in round trip of about 35 miles. Fall was certainly in the air, as temps were very cool and winds strong nearing Islip Saddle. High point was 7901 feet in elevation, which will be closed to snow in a few weeks more. Great ride and had a blast up there.

I am in awe of some of these pictures. Obviously many are taken with real DSLR cameras and not point-and-shoot Walmart specials. I would like to know what bag you use to carry your high-end cameras in on a ride.
