Got my flu shot at the office clinic Tuesday morning.
I didn't give it a thought, but in retrospect when my cycling buddy said "hey let's go for a ride" Wednesday night I begged off saying I felt like crap. Good thing; he set some PRs whilst I half-napped on my sofa.
Omicron booster scheduled Tuesday evening. I've never had more than a sore arm from those, but we'll see.

The pharmacy sent me an e-mail that they have senior dose seasonal flu shots.
My 'patient portal' sent me a message that I should get the new COVID vaccine, even thou I got the 2nd booster in June.
It seems early in the year for a seasonal flu shot and only 3 months from the last booster.

And they didn't have any appointments available ... too much demand.
So I made a pharmacy appointment - got the last one available in the next two weeks - Flu and COVID, same arm, same time.

Got bivalent Pfizer and Old Person’s Flu jabs this morning. One in each arm. Both arms a bit sore but nothing else to report.

I got the regular seasonal flu shot last Friday and the COVID/Omircon booster yesterday morning. I was expecting a reaction from the COVID booster (mild reactions to the past shots) so I didn't plan on doing anything physically demanding today. So far nothing except a little sore at the injection site. I think I'll still keep to my plan of being lazy today.

Got the original Pfizer shots, no boosters, or additional shots for me. No more flu shots either! I’m done with all this so called vaccine pharma! Regret getting the initial shots from Pfizer! Myocarditis is a real issue due to the shots, girlfriend is a Cardiac RN, specialist in TAVR and she reads many reports. YMMV. Do whatever that makes you comfortable.

Got the flu and first shingrix shots in the same arm Tuesday morning. 48 hours later it's still sore but I've heard that is normal for shingrix. Like Climb14er, no more covid jabs for me.

Getting the bivalent booster and the flu shot this afternoon. I know some folks have issues with Kaiser, but they really make wellness care and vaccinations easy.
Had fairly minor reactions previously but I don't have anything planned for the next 24 hours, just in case.

My wife did all of this. Ended up with a wicked cold then gave it to me. Just stay home as much as possible. Wash your hands!

“[O]ur results indicate that SARS-CoV-2 infection is itself a very strong risk factor for myocarditis, and it also substantially increases the risk of multiple other serious adverse events”
Vaccination will reduce your risk of infection, and in the event of breakthrough infection, reduces your risk of serious adverse events, including "long covid" issues.

FWIW, myocarditis is also associated with post-infection COVID-19:

I've had the proven shots that actually prevent illness. Shingrix 7 years ago when I was getting the travel shots.
NO flu shots since the swineflu one in 1979, or maybe there was one other one in the 90s. I was zonked all day after, same as having the flu actually.
I'll be the control group for this newfangled do nothing big pharma scam.
I saw one doctor saying you don't need it if you had MERS 20 years ago. And it's 20% different. LOL.
I rode my 74 lb Rolhoff14 tour bike 120 miles 2 days ago. I feel FINE. Dodged 1000+ semis as usual. LOL.

Now, if I can just make it three more weeks. Now it's time to go to Costco and get my flu shot.

cpl weeks ago, one of my Aunts caught Covid in Florida. killed her 1 month shy of her 101st birthday. when we gathered in NY for the wake & funeral etc. I didn't ask about vaccinations. didn't seem appropriate. also, her Daughter, my Cousin, in her early 70s was following my Aunt's ambulance & made a wrong turn & got T-boned. horrible accident but alive & rehabbing now in FL. my Aunt was never told & died the next day. my Cousin couldn't be with her Mother at the end & obviously couldn't travel to NY for the funeral. when our # is up, we go, no matter what. if our # isn't up, we remain here
my Dad took care of himself & recently passed 3 weeks shy of 95, natural causes, aka old age, not Covid. my Mom & Niece were present. Mom remains here at 92. we stay, until we go ...
personally I've been Covid vaxxed 5 times, the last being the bivalent & just got the Flu vax as well. but doubtful I'll make it to 92, 95 or 101 ...

I got my flu vaccine along with my Omicron booster at about the time this thread started. Both were free at the local pharmacy. Sore arms for a couple of days but no additional side-effects.

IF you folks are on the fence about a vaccination due to cost and time, check with your health insurance company. While the Fed government is still subsidizing the COVID vaccines, my insurer (anthem Blus Cross) will pay older folks to get the Shingles vaccination (and a few others) at Walgreens and CVS. Much more convenient than having to make an appointment at the doctor's office.

Got the flu vaccine at the chain pharmacy, then got the COVID booster at the hospital.
The hospital was quicker. they said that they also do flu shots.
