Doc wants me to come in to check my COPD, etc. Had to go for a blood draw Friday and there was a Karen there at the lab. They keep the door locked and you wait outside until they come to get you and it's appointment only. She (the Karen) was in line behind me and when she heard she couldn't be seen because she didn't have an appointment she went ballistic
. When a patient came out she stood against the door so it couldn't be closed and proclaimed she wasn't leaving until she got her blood draw.
She demanded to see the manager and was informed there was no manager, just a phlebotomist, so she demanded to see the phlebotomist. She was ranting about stupid stuff when I was taken inside and another woman in line was encouraging her. I tried to ignore the whole situation and didn't speak up, even though she was directing some of her crap in my direction as if I was going to back her up.

My father used to do crazy **** when people and things pissed him off, but it was never again people less powerful than he and there was always an edge of humor in it. He took on the cops and Consolidated Edison.

Tough riding today. Yesterday I took a digger, landing on my right knee and forearm. The knee is swollen, has a small cut below the cap, and my upper body is a little achy all over. Just as I was leaving the house, I smacked the back of my right hand on a hallway doorknob.

I can certainly understand making a scene over a true injustice but this was unwarranted.

For me, I think that it's a combination of two factors: I'm not eating as ridiculously as when I was younger and portions are getting out of hand at a lot of places. It's not unusual for us to split when we do take-out, though we haven't done that when dining out - I still have too much pride.

It's like when they want to eat 'just a few of your fries' - I ordered the amount of food I wanted to eat. If you take half my fries, I'm getting less than I wanted to eat. If you wanted fries, you should ****ing ORDER some damn fries.

Wait, you mean like order one entree and split that? That's MADNESS! Usually what happens is we each order what we want, then she tries to filch some of what I ordered, having tried it and found it better than what SHE ordered, and offering some of the stuff she now doesn't want in exchange. I've had to tell her, "No, I ordered what I wanted."

The other night, we ordered takeout from the Cuban place nearby. Mrs. GeneJockey got it in her head that she doesn't like Cuban food, so she said she wasn't really hungry and didn't want anything.
I was not fooled. I ordered an extra dinner.
When I came back with the food, The Older Boy was tucking into his Lechon Quesadilla*, and she said, "Can I have a taste of that?" And of course, decided she liked Cuban Food. We had some of each, Lechon and Pollito Mojito. But she didn't want the Maduros, so I got those.
*Pretty sure Quesadillas aren't part of Cuban cuisine, but they've been clever about adapting to the local expectations.

I think she felt entitled. She kept ranting about how she would pay and her not having an appointment didn't mean she was going to spread Covid. I wanted to tell her the place was extremely busy and if they let her in they would be delaying people who had appointments, but I didn't want to end up on the news.

Went with PI elite. The other choice was specialized deflect but the store owner said they weren’t the best under 50 degrees.

I don't have direct experience with studs. But it doesn't seem odd that there would be a break-in period when new, since the studs are a separate piece of hardware.
