Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I booked my flights today. It's a whole different world with no change fees. Late July-early August. Two weeks. It should be warm enough. A mistake I always make is looking at daytime highs. I should be looking at early morning temps.

Merida's first skyscraper has begun construction. 36 floors. It's the very rare building that is more than two stories. A few hotels; nothing more. In fact the vast majority of buildings in the city are single story, but with 3-6 meter ceilings.

Go to YouTube, type in bicycle messenger, and see what city comes up in auto complete.

Hint: It's not LA or Houston.

Oh, we're talking about bike messengers, not cities?

I've obviously ridden in NYC. It's really not that different from riding in the downtown areas of other metropolitan areas other than... it just keeps going and going and going. A bike messenger from Minneapolis wouldn't be out of sorts if dropped in to the NYC streets.

And there you go.

Being in his band would be a tough gig. Auditioning for drums? "Yeah well I was the drummer for Nirvana". Oh ok how about guitar player. " yeah, I do that too.". Uh, singer? "Yep", writer? "Check"

Slow morning. It must be Saturday.
Shortly going out for day five in a row. It's been a shockingly long time since I last did five in a row.
