I despise the single bolt crank design for just that reason. Having to use a thrust washer in this application is monumentally bad engineering.
You have some options, all of which entail shimming the drive side out a bit.
First would be to flip flop the thrust washer from the non-drive side to the dive side, this would give you clearance on the spider as long as the non drive arm isn't scraping the bearing.
A lot of BB's have a shoulder on the plastic insert for the bearing, replacing the non drive side with a flat insert (Token comes to mind) and then shim the drive side, same caveats as above.
You could also have the BB shell faced on the non drive side and shim the crank out.
Those three would keep the engagement on the spline of the non drive arm the same.
You could also insert a shim behind the bearing on the drive side, this would give you slightly less engagement on the non drive spline which might or might not be an issue.
Or dump that dumb design for a Rotor or Dura crank that doesn't side load the bearing.

I'll train on a head cold everytime.
If it moves into my chest, or I anticipate that happening shortly, then I shut it down.
I have head colds for like 2-3x as long as I need to because I don't change my lifestyle (~6 hrs sleep avg, training, drinking).
If I have anything worse though (which is seldom) then I back off.

If you're not collected $50k a month to race your bike then what's the point of doing one extra race in 2013? Will you regret it in 2015 or 2020 or 2030? Will you look back in 20 years and say, "Man, if I only did that race in Jan 2013 my whole racing life would have changed"?
If so then go race. If not then skip the race.

I'd be lying if I said I'd never considered this as well.

As you will see from my question, I am not a big follower of american football.
Why is it national news that a football player had an imaginary girlfriend ?

Just commented in the weight loss thread. Yeah I am back where I was this time last year. Haven't really gotten fatter just bigger (i grow like crazy when I am at the gym).
Based on personal issues had to pack it in again and as much as it hurts it is the right thing to do. BUT how can I stay away from you knuckleheads?
