For someone who's gone on record here complaining some members seem to like to start arguments, you're looking mighty hypocritical at this moment.
If you don't like my posts, ignore them. I'll do the same.
(btw, it's considered a :d move when you modify a member's post to suit your narrative - but you knew that, didn't you?)

Not sure what the issue is.....my response was meant to say that I recognized the Ex President as Jimmy Carter not the current Joe Biden, Thus the comment about glasses. I used ^^^^^ this rather than quote you.
As far as the protocol for using the :d is not something that I am familiar with causing an issue. I am also not clear how I modified your original quote other than using ^^^^^^.
All The Best, Ben

If you're not clear on what I meant about modifying my original quote (don't know why you have clarity issues regarding what you yourself modified in my post, but okay - I don't live in your head, so...), I'll spell it out: you modified my closing sig from DD to Dd. Do note that modification pretty much mirrors the brief content (once again: :d) contained in your post.
Gaslight much?
Edit: I misinterpreted the post by @xiaoman1 - again, my sincere apologies, Ben! However, I am leaving my post here so that future generations can see that I was a jerk

The rider behind il Campionissimo looks it might, maybe, possibly be Jean "Leatherhead" Robic. He's the right size and more or less the right head shape, but he doesn't have the characteristic Robic hairnet and his head in general looks a little less blockheady than some photos of him. Maybe someone else has better intel on that than I do. In any event, his chain is awfully slack and that freewheel looks awfully corncob-ish for climbing, although his small chainring looks to be a bit smaller that Coppi's. Regardless, that gearing doesn't make my knees feel any better.

Hard to be anything close to certain from the camera angle, but to my eye it looks like Fausto is on the small chainring; it's just that the "small chainring" looks to be about a 49t (as opposed to the big 'ring being 52t), leaving him to be climbing in something like a 49x26, which would be a 50.9" gear, not much bigger than the 42x23 (49.3") that was standard in the Age of Merckx and later. Either way, it make my knees want to explode just thinking about it.

That is Jean Robic.

Paul Giamatti is becoming vintage, and the bike definitely is. Anyone want to take a stab at IDing the bike? Apologies for the less-than-awesome screen grabs.

Does the bike cast iron lawnmower used by an actor playing young Don McLean count?
This is from the documentary The Day the Music Died.
Don refers to his bike as a Sears in the film, but the propmaster was only able to source these Hiawathas. The orange one was the backup. We had no time to source period correct 24" tires either.

A photo still of Mexican comedian Cantinflas shooting the 1956 film, Around the World in 80 Days.
Watching the film (and you can almost make it out in the pic here), it appears there is a kind of weight dangling and swinging from the front hub, like it's in a short leather belt. Does that make sense to anyone?
