Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I guess a man bag that holds your Glock would be acceptable. Very persuasive.

Not my favorite, I've never heard it before. Or if I have I don't recall. Also, I can't name a single Taylor Swift song.

I went for a walk, in lieu of a Sunday ride. I was walking along, minding my own business, when I saw a wasp 2" long. "Jesus Christ!" says I, "That's the biggest ******g wasp I've ever seen!" As you can see, it was kind enough to pose for a nice picture.

Other than that, it's been pretty relaxed, hanging out with 40% of my siblings at The Ancestral Home, wishing I had a goddam bike here, because today would have been a great day for a ride.

I used to love watching motorcycle races there on TV, maybe I'll catch football there someday. Wonder if there's another similarly blocked section on the other end...

Looks like the local football lineup for me this season will be:

Lumberjacks vs:

9/16 Utah Tech
9/23 Montana
10/24 Portland State
10/28 UC Davis
11/11 Northern Colorado

Last cycling tweet of the day. Awfully big gear to be pushing with a barely inflated rear tyre.

I saw Supercross there a couple times and the riders went up into the peristyle then. I think Mark Barnett won one time and the late Mike Bell the other time.

Also saw the Raiders vs the Bengals when they were the L.A. Raiders.

Watched highlights from the first 2 stages of the Vuelta. Lots of rain, lots of crashes, and a really good win for the guy who won today.

Nope, just this guy. And, at 20X12X10 hardly qualifies as a manbag.

Ugh! I wonder what that is? Size would be a Northern Giant Hornet, but the colouring seems wrong. Maybe a bald-faced hornet, but too big? Hmmmm.

Just hanging out at my local GI doc’s waiting room for no good reason except to
get my pancreas meds approved for another year.

Root canal tomorrow.

Interesting week.
