Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, we got paid .3 for diagnosis on most things. Here is a car with an intermittent electronic failure, you have 18 minutes to figure it out. If it turns out to be a sensor or some small part you get 12 more minutes to fix it, so 30 minutes total. Do this 16 times in a day and you make 8 hours.

I can live with that explanation. I had no idea how far back they went; I just knew this was the oldest oee I'd ever seen.

Yep. Le Col is the best stuff in my collection right now. I have a bunch of decent stuff (Voler, Neopro). Le Col is a different level. Yay for Strava challenge discounts!

one of my friends worked flat rate ... he was amazing - but the dealerships spent more time yanking his chain than they did to appreciate him

he finally grew tired of this and got out of it

back in the day when I was a teenager - I think it took me an entire weekend to replace front control arm ball joints and stabilizer bar bushings / links on a Chevelle ... (although later it took less time to swap the motor / trans)

They will jerk you around, depending on management of course. I worked at new car dealers for more than 30 years, always flat rate. When you get older, you get slower and make less money, so there's that.

It’s 14 here and we have about 6” on the ground from Sunday. It was 70 degrees two weeks ago.

Good vid. I noted he didn't test robusta espresso, which is my daily dose. I find that one cup, from a small moka pot, is enough for the whole day, unless I ride. Then, I like to have a half cup of Nescafe after. I use robusta because the acids in arabica **** with my digestive tract as well as my sinuses.
