I skipped Sunday's ride, because I'd already ridden about 30+ miles each of the previous 4 days, and my legs were a little stiff. Monday, it was raining so I Zwifted. I felt "off". First, my legs were still sore, and second, they didn't seem to have much 'snap'. It felt like I was having to put out 50 W more effort for the same power. Also, it kind of felt like my HR wasn't as responsive as usual.
Before COVID, I'd have put it down to "One of those days when the legs just don't have it", but now I find myself wondering, "Did I have 'IT'?"
Eternal Hypervigilance is the price of pandemics.

I won’t argue- it’s horrible up here right now. I’m not worried it’s going to kill me. I am, however, worried that it’s going to cause my kids to miss school for 5+ days.
I do generally feel that masking causes minimal discomfort and don’t see what the big deal is with wearing them.

putting a mask on to enter a store and having to wear it for a minimal amount of time doesn’t bother me. Wearing a mask non stop for 6 plus hours I get a nasty head ache.

I find it's about the only way for me to stay in the power zone I'm supposed to be in. I like it because I don't have to think. All I have to do is push the pedals, and on some of the workouts that's all I can do by the end of the last set.
It works okay for hard efforts of 30 seconds or longer, but I understand it's a real problem for 10-20 second all out efforts - response is too slow. I generally find it takes 3 seconds to change from one power level to the next. I tried to do a Tabata workout without Erg mode and I kept over- and undershooting the power. Drove me nuts. If it would allow you to set it up so Erg mode turns off for the sprint but back on for the spin in between that might work.

Nah.
This. If free riding feels better it's because you're not really doing the workout as specified.
Yes.
Yes.

A total of 26 people living in a duplex owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority. Inspection last spring found the smoke detectors working. Early word is that the ones in the upper unit were not when the fire started. Fourteen dead so far. Seven are children. Two other people hospitalized. Some lawyers are probably licking their chops right now.

Absence of pain implies absence of gain, you might say.

That's weird. I mean, I've done hour-long races where we all stay together and stay within a fairly narrow power band. I've noticed sometimes I have a significantly lower W/kg than the person I'm drafting - like they're doing over 2 W/kg while I'm cruising at 1.7 or 1.8.
Might it have to do with the terrain? And are all your parameters in your profile correct? One thing I noticed when I accidentally reset my height to 3 feet was that I had no problem at 2 W/kg keeping up with other riders putting out more like 4 W/kg, so the aero effect of height should not be overlooked.

It has something to do with that stupid rubber band I'm sure of it.

I'm running it on Apple TV now but I've had issues in the past on my laptop too. It's a brand new install only about 3 or 4 weeks old. When I ride alone it's fine no problems at all. I did 30 minutes on my own directly after yesterday's ride and it was 100% fine. It only does this stuff with the group ride thing happening. I just don't know why it singles me out.
