Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That Ghisallo is almost as hot as it gets. If only those spacers beneath the stem were gone. How do you like those RZRs?

If your a smaller rider, can't get a better wheel, 968 grams for the pair, the tune hub internals roll forever.

The Pegoretti, however, I'm not liking at all. That's the most boring paint I've ever seen from Pegoretti. The handlebar/brifter orientation (and is that 3mm Fizik tape?) is like a glamor shot of the inside of a luxury car, with a tacky seat cushion from Walmart draped over the driver's seat. The fact that the Kirk doesn't have the funky handlebar accommodations leads me to think something about the size on the Peg is wrong- top tube too long? Perspective could be screwing with me (the Kirk has a sloping top tube, right?), but the Peg looks bigger.

^ Simple, but hot.

With training wheels (OpenPro/Ultegra hubs). Won't purchase new wheels until I drop my last 20lbs. Still rides nicer than most of the newer bikes out there right now.

New tape, cables and cable housings for the new year. Can probably shorten some of the cables another 1/2", I think. Only ridden it on the trainer so far, so I'll wait until I get a few road rides in before I start cutting again.

also, I have a gold chain waiting for when this one needs replacing

Not quite hot, but more than warm. Cables look OK to me. I'm not averse to colored bar tape in principal, and maybe it's just the lighting, but that looks like you used strips of raw meat or something. If you don't want black or white, have you considered gold? I think my project this frosty Sunday will be just that - replacing white bar tape with Deda "olympic gold."

Did you steal it?

That's the kind of pedals my shop puts on bikes for people to test ride - but more often pink or fluorescent green.
