Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yeah, i kind of liked the darkness. but the water skeeved me out. wrong bike for it, wrong gear for it... wrong rider for it!

the good news is, all the upward facing surfaces of everything are VERY CLEAN now!

They have drive-on hoists that are made for storage which would double the available space. Or nearly double.

The rjones28 winter storage facility is slightly less luxurious.

People rent space. No winter driving for those cars.

Believe it or not, I am slightly ahead of you at 2,360km, but that also includes some Zwift riding as well. I am hoping to break the 3000km mark by the end of the year, which would be by far the best year out of the four since my workplace accident almost killed me.

About 20km in hiking stuff this year.

@datlas, quick question about something that happened to my wife a couple days ago. On a 44 mile ride, her fourth ride in 4 days in the dry Tucson area, she started feeling nauseous about 12 miles from the end and could barely ride despite being on a 20 mile tailwind. About a mile from the finish, she pulled over and vomited a bucketload of clear water, easily well over a water bottle amount. Little solids were apparent, virtually none and she had had a decent breakfast an hour before the ride.

Anyway, why would the body quit accepting water from the stomach? Just curious. She's not known to be an over or under drinker.

Tough to say. She may have become overheated which can make you nauseated and hurl. That's the most likely answer, but you know what free medical advice is worth! It also may have been a "fluke."

Obviously if this is a recurrent or ongoing issue she should get checked.

I am going to dinner here tomorrow. Paying for two people.

A La Carte Menu:

A LA CARTE MENU | townsendrestaurant (townsendepx.com)

Tasting menu:

TASTING MENU | townsendrestaurant (townsendepx.com)

Not sure if they are the exact menus, but they give you an idea of what the damage will be.

Thanks. She rode yesterday and was fine. I personally think that she dehydrated from four days of riding (144 miles) in a dry environment and at 3,000' elevation. We come from 750'.

She wanted a rest day today and I'm obliging as she now has 165 miles in 5 days and very little miles the previous two weeks. I'm keeping an eye on her.
