Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well the TT currently has one Conti Ultra Race from the original owner. I had to replace the other because it the bead was not staying in the rim! It was replaced with an old Conti Ultra Sport I had laying around and I don't remember it's history. So, I'm not super trusting of either tire on the bike at the moment.

I'd like to have the gatorskins on there for training rides at the very least.

First of all, I'm not sure how to find one. I saw some classes online which advertised "native speaker" but they're $125 a month and I'm not employed. Second, because I'm trying to learn a little bit ahead of time because I'm not comfortable- usually- going into a situation where I know nothing. This wasn't the case with bikes but was very true when I lived in Germany and when I took ASL classes and attended social gatherings where the majority of the people were Deaf.

You could probably find someone at Home Depot to teach you for way cheaper.

Muskrat Suzie. Muskrat Sam. Do the jitterbug down in muskrat land.

Speaking of music, I was at my local last night. The bar tender played A-ha's "Take On Me". Can't believe that song is more than 30 years old. Where does the time go?

Bite me. I have that Captain and Tennile Album in my basement. I should throw it out but I can't bring myself to.

My 17 year old daughter loves "Take On Me," apparently it's popular with the younger crowd. Go figure.

What was he supposed to be the captain of?

The video won 6 MTV awards in 1986. That was back when MTV showed, you know, music videos.

I have not used Pandora much since I stopped running. I used to run to Pandora, I believe my favorite running station was Smashing Pumpkins station. The loud 90's grunge sound is good motivation for stupid running.

Sorry Ramona. I posted that and then did my nap. Upon awaking, I immediately moved to delete it. But alas, too late.

Gatorskins are great for training bikes if you like to wear drag shorts when you swim (if you swim). Or if your riding buddies are slow and you still want to ride with them.

They're slow, they feel like crap, they handle like crap, and they're still not actually flat-proof. Pass.

I always do podcasts when running. I use Pandora for music when my wife's with me in the car since the radio sucks and she doesn't like podcasts.

There was a lot of sucking in that game. On the upside, it ends my need to watch a full game on Sunday.

I assume you're a Badger fan. Northwestern tomorrow morning. Could be a big Cats upset, or we could get blown out.
